Default T-45 shifter

Looking to replace the stock shifter in the cobra. I really like the Hurst but the boot would cover the handle up. Just wandering what you guys are running and how you like them.

Long live the Hurst Shifter! Do you mean that the stocker leather boot will cover the stick? If so, just take the rubber bushing off the top and push it down (that's how I have mine). Also, if you do decide on one, you have to get it w/ the chrome stick and white ball (or t-handle). You will not be disappointed in looks and performance.

mgw lovers will pound their chests about those, the rest of us are happy as punch with Tri-ax, pro5.0, hurst, B&M, UPR, etc...

I use a tri-ax with a super short customized pro5.0 handle and a mach1 aluminum ****. So, any ol' shifter will be great. Tri-ax are plentiful on the secondary market (ebay) and they're pretty cheap. Get whatever you can find and enjoy.

People must love horrible products if they were around for over 40 years and came standard on many muscle cars including the new Shelby GT and GT-H. But yeah, it really just boils down to looks and brand loyalty.

I like the hurst shifters... so do many others. Why does it suck in your book?

I had grinding issues into 2nd with my triax. I changed the bumps about 4 times, then removed it totally, and it still did it on hard accel or high rpm shifts. So that was one of the reasons I got rid of it. Another was I just didnt like the way it felt.
