Default oil pressure on a 4.6

Just recently I have had a loss of oil pressure when car first starts up. It goes from 0- to normal. It will drop to 0 then go to normal then drop again and kepp doing until warmed up

Are these readings coming from the cluster gauge? If so I wouldnt use that as a reference.

The sensor for that gauge is probably going bad and sending a bad signal to the cluster. To be sure your pressure is good buy a cheap mechanical gauge and hook it up to verify oil pressure.

I am fairly certain that if the car dropped to 0 psi a few times a day you would eventually get a nice knocking sound coming out of your motor.

Thank you was thinking the same and wanted to see if this
Was a common problem. It was off gauge and no knocking. Had a clutch
Put in recently and since then have seen this also thinking guy who put
In clutch might have bumped wire

The sending unit is near the oil filter on the adapter housing. It will be the only thing next to the filter with a 2 wire connector.
