Thanks for the link dude, you dont happen to have the entire article do you? My email is now single94supra@gmail.com and not the old one. My bad, should have told you. Kinda curious as to what the engine made and whatnot. If you happen to have it uploaded or whatever, post the link here. Thats damn imformitive!
question the billet timming adjuster kits.. if i buy one of those i shouldnt need to buy a trigger wheel should i one comes with it.. im replacing the stock one.. as im planning for a supecharger... dont know if ill go super... but im thinking i might... here is a link to MMR go to products then to 199-2004 sohc parts... and its there...
r3d, you didnt happen to put a belt tensioner in the box did you? Just realized tonight they are diff. As long as the arms and chains are in there thats cool, just dont wanna order a new belt tensioner(that bolts to the front timing cover) if you threw one in the box. I assume you were talking about the chain tensioners correct?

its labeled as Billet Aluminum Timing adjuster kit
part # so you can jsut find all for it 220113
I got Gift certificates to MMR... what a good GF
that timing adjuster does eliminate the usefulness of the trigger wheel inside the front cover but i don't remember if removing it will allow the timing gears to move out of proper alignment. I have a spare reluctor wheel somewhere if you need one.

nope.. sent the chain tensioners, lower timing gears, arms and guides and a bunch of those impossible to find OEM bolts and a good coolant neck.

$120 + shipping correct? Could you get me a quote on shipping to 77536? Just shoot me a PM with your PayPal and the total with shipping and I'll send it in the morning.
it was either do it now.. or dont do it ever kinda thing... i have a friend who can paint... and everything
and im military over seas... sooo..... its either have it shipped with my household goods... or pay 600$ to ship it and import taxes... and it was just ridiculous....
so i did it now... and push everything back about 2 weeks.... since im going to be waiting on the intake manifold from HPS... looks like its not going to be for a lil bit.... and i want a direct fit manifold... i dont want to plates or nothing so i sold my p-51....
Only thing left for me to do is put on the valve covers. Then its time to drop the heart back in. Hope to get most of it done tonight, WOOT!
EDIT:: oh yea, r3d, in those links it shows ONLY the pass side and center divider was modified on the h-pipe, is that correct or do both sides need the extra lenght added to them?
we only had to mod the pass side and spread it out a bit on mine.
BTW... killer work man. We're gunna hafta meet someday.
I think it went together pretty quick considering a did a complete teardown of bottom end(rings, bearings, seals), teardown of heads, headswap, timing etc... Hope it runs pretty good, am really eyeballing the SHIT outa that new HPS 5.4 intake(unless you wanna part with your HPS 4.6 intake now LOL)
My only real issue, well question is a 4.6 timing chain, if no marks are visable you can fold the chain in half and mark both flat links. However, when you fold a 5.4 chain in half one end is the flat links and the other is where the chain folds. I took a gamble and hope I am right in that you can mark that area and be golden also, since it is still a link. Hope so anyway LOL.
Anyone happen to have a hayned or ford manual with that info in it would be really appreciated, I think I remember seeing that that is correct when I was at the ford dealership the other day, hope so anyway.
Also, figured out a way to install the followers(rockers) WITHOUT compressing the valves. I was concerned about causing a spongy lifter by using this method so I done 4 of them, brought them to work and rechecked the entire thing and the lash adjuster was still in the same shape it was when it left the factory. Anyone interested I can do a small writeup and video. Saves a shitload of time and is 100% safe if done correctly and is very easy to do
Hope its dot to dot like its supposed to be LOL. Might throw the degree wheel on and check just to verify the cams are where the supposed to be IF i can find the stock cam specs.
ya but they dont go to a flat chain link on both sides....
.... so it would be off...
just dosnt sound wright... hmm guess we should look up lightning timing and see how they do it...
going to go looking for a wright up.....
so im looking for a camshafts for my 5.4 ... im wanting to go supercharged... so i should probably just buy 2 camshafts for a 5.4 supercharged lightning then shouldnt i?
Probably be the best cams.. instead of a 4.6 supercharged cams cause the 4.6 cams arent made for the 5.4
Ok well 5.4's have 122 links in the chain so there should be one flat link on each side that you mark....
shouldnt have one link and the other side not have a flat link either....
here is a write up for timing though...
