Default What should I do next?

I have a 2003 V6 Mustang 5spd. with a Steeda CAI, Pypes catted X-pipe, Flowmaster 40 series, 2003 Cobra rims, and Nitto NT555 tires. What would be the best mods for me to put on next? I was thinking traction lock and 3:73 gears. Where would be the best place to get this and with the 3:73s about how many rpms would I be turning going 70mph? Would it be okay to buy used gears and traction lock? I'm only 17 so I only about $600-$700 to spend.

Also, about what should my quarter mile times be now with my current mods? and how much would gears change that?

The mods you have there are pretty basic..you gained maybe 5-10hp max at the wheels. To fulfill your exhaust get some long tube headers. Get 4.10's for your manual and a tlock will help you out. I would reccomend after gears getting your heads and intakes ported and polished and looking into a cam if you really want to get your car moving. You still have one last bolt on you can go with and thats a under drive pulley.

He already has a catted x-pipe, so i mean unless he wants to throw that out and sell it, i'd say the 3.73 if your worried about any type of highway driving.

As for 1/4 mile times, alot...15 + if your lucky, you'd need Juice or engine work to get anything better, bolt on's really don't make that huge of an impact like your looking for. And by the way for the Gears...MTing sells everything you need. and RPMoutlet i know sells the T-loc just dunno whatthe deal is with them. Some people think they're alright, others hate them.

Well it's already been said but 3.73's and t-lok are usually he next step. A very well driven 99+ 5 speed with gears and your mods could/should break 14's. There are other mods that could help you out a lot, but since you are 17, don't take that the wrong way I'm only 19, and I'm guessing this is your daily driver we won't go there.

3.73's or 4.10 and get a t-loc should deffinatly be your next mod, you can find used 7.5" t-loc on ebay and then get a rebuild kit for it which are around 40bucks and either rebuild it yourself or have the shop who installs the gears do it for you also. that will save some money.

In all honesty how will the car drive with 3.73 on the highway? Can you still keep it in fifth and not hurt the engine that much? or will it be like i'm driving in 4th gear the whole time. I've been thinkin about gears but I drive on the highway alot...

Gears! Don't worry about them. They are the best mod for the dollar.

I found a guy that has a used traction lock and 3:73 gears out of a ranger that was wrecked with 75,000 miles. He is selling them for $170.00. Is this worth the money and should I get it? Would I need to buy a rebuild kit for the traction lock? How hard is it to rebuild one of these and put this stuff in? If I took it to a shop to get it done about how much would it cost me?

$170 for gears and t-lok that have gone through 75k...um I wouldn't do it personally.

thats not a bad deal at all. the rebuild kits are 40bucks off ebay make sure its for the 7.5" rear end then go to a shop to rebuild the posi and install gears should be around $300-400 depending where you go. you could rebuild the posi yourself there are a few tech atricles online that can help you. but i would still try to talk him down more.
