Default what parts should i get next

i have a 96 gt with a cold air intake, underdrive pullies, and an x-pipe. i need to do more stuff to it so i can stay beside my friends gt or right on his bumper. my friend has a 04 gt with cold air intake,70mm throttle body and plenum, pro chambers, flowmaster mufflers, 3:73 gears, and nitto 555r drag radials, and his best 1/4 mile is 13.7 and 1/8 is 8.7.and i dont know what to get next,i only have about $1,000 to $1,500 to spend, i was thinking about getting an Accufab 70mm throttle body and plenum($415),intake spacer($37),Venom high performance 24 lbs./hr fuel injectors($220), 3:73 gears($135),and a Steeda tri-ax shifter($180).should i get these parts or something else.thanks.

Out of your list:

Dont Get
-intake spacer (won't need it with the plenum)
-24# injectors (don't need 'em for your power level)
-3.73's (get 4.10's or 4.30's)

Do Get
-TB and plenum (you can get a Trick flow one much cheaper than accufab, and they're only about a 2-3 RWHP difference)
-Shifter
-4.10's or 4.30's
-DR's
-Practice

You still won't be able to stick with him, especially if he can drive. You're down on power to a PI engine. You could run a small shot of nitrous, and you really don't NEED a tune, but I would highly recommend one. The biggst thing will be traction, weight reduction, and driving skills.

with that 1500 you could look for a used blower or get a nice nitrous setup and he will never pass you.

if you wanna stay n/a for now.

i would get long tubes, pi cams,4.10's and a tune. that otta get you closer to him.

PI cams and PI intake for starters. Then 4:10's. You should be real close. Look for a set of cheap used shorty headers too. I bought my ceramic FRPP's for $100. You should be able to find a set of cams for $100. Intake about the same. I know where there are 2 sets of PI cams for sale right now.
