Default Shift Kit?

Is it worth it to put a Automatic Shift Kit on a 04 V6 basically stock?

I would recommend doing the J-Mod. Will probably end up being cheaper and will be a lot easier on your transmission.

Is that the same kinda thing as a shift kit? Because the ones i was looking at looked identical to that?

no... not really at all. A true "shift kit" normally contains new springs and sometimes valves. The j-mod is just a mod to existing parts and is what you can think of as a reliability mod at this point. A tune change for firmer shifts or a true shift kit will normally raise line pressure. Either or both can be done.

Here's a good page that splains a bit: http://www.vapauto.com/jmod.htm

Jmod is the way to go. It was designed by the guy who helped design the transmission. Its pretty easy to do and very cheap also.

Any worries with doing the JMOD yourself?

Just do your research. Many people have done it themselves and honestly, it's not something I would want to take to have someone else work on or do. I'd rather do it myself.
