I think you have a S197.. But regardless, i dont think any dual exhaust setup sounds good on a 6 cylinder. Well any exhaust for that matter sounds GREAT. With my car I've tricked people no kidding. Just weld a flowmaster 40 or MAC chambered muffler on and leave ur whole exhaust setup alone. It won't increase your volume too much, but will make for a better sound. And then throw a cheap CAI setup on and your car will sound awesome and mellow. Thats my opinion on these matters.

Another thing to note is that while the v6s are cold, they sound horrible. My 3.8 when warm sounds great at 1500rpm and 3000rpm. And after 3000RPM i think the IMRC's open up and you can really hear it start sucking for air combined with the subtle exhaust change, and it will surprise you!

im going have to say the first choice sounds better.

and krenogin I disagree with you. Dual exhaust does wonders for us 6er's I have had people think my car was a close to stock v8. Your just not doing it right. If you know what you are doing then you can and will have a decent sounding 6er instead of some ricer sounding crap.

Oh and CAI isnt worth it on the v6. put in a K&N and remove the air silencer and call it a day. Unless you want the CAI for looks then go for it.

and he does have a S197... which is a 05-09 model.

I would go with the first one as well. I have dual exhaust and love it. I have a JBA set up. Also since it is a S197 then a CAI and tuner will do wonders for your car (More the Tuner). I absolutely love mine.

If those are your only options, probably the first. I have a true dual H-pipe, Magnaflow setup and it sounds amazing. My CAI also helps a lot with the sound. It sounds better than a lot of GT's I see on the road :\

does a CAI really help with the sound and if so what about on a turn down? and what kind would you suggest?

I can only really go by my own to be honest. My exhaust isn't turned-down. The CAI I have makes the car sound much more deeper and aggressive than stock. A lot louder, too. It's BBK. I haven't ever removed the silencer and put in a K&N, like most suggest, so I really don't know how much different it sounds from that.
