I want to put a cold air intake in my 03 V6, but can it be used to it's full potential with the stock exhaust?

 

cold air intakes don't do much by themselves they are nice to look at when u open your hood and they will change the tone of your exhaust slightly but it will not give you any real noticeable power. i would say get one but go cheap. they are not worth spending more than 50 dollars on.

Get the cheapest one you can get your hands on. They don't do to much, but they do make them sound nicer and help with mpg a bit.

 

I have the $75 one from americanmuscle.com and i love it, it dosnt really add power, but maybe alittle exhaust sound, but in my opinion its just as good as a K&N.

 

Unless you need a solid mount for nitrous or just want the sound and flash of the CAI just get a K&N drop in.

 

I agree with the rest of the guys here. I just installed the $75 one from AM to add some extra shine and as a combo since my first intention was to get my new throttle body on my 2002. Dumbest thing anyone can do is get a CIA over $100 just for a brand name.

 

Guess I did the dumbest thing possible then...
