Default clutch squeeling. please help!

couple days ago my clutch started making a weird noise when i pressed it. a buddy from work said it sounded like my clutch bearing. today on the way home from a stop i started to go and i shifted into 2nd it felt like something broke. i wasnt gettin as much pressure from the clutch pedal and when i pressed the clutch i was gettin a bad squeeling noise but still shift into gear no problem. i hear my year pony has a clutch cable rather than hydraulic. it kinda felt like the cable broke but that cant be right if its still shifting fine correct? i plan to take it in for a new clutch im just curious. sorry if its a bad description its my first post bear with me. its a 2000 v6 3.8l 94k miles bone stock.

sounds like the TOB went bad. (TOB=throwout bearing) Thats the item that usually makes the squealing noise you described.

Sorry to hijack your thread but,

I think it's my clutch too.

1999 V6 and it sounds like a bearing or something is bad. I spent $70 the other day to get my top idler pully fixed and $155 + an over nighter for lower on fixed, which the ******** mechanic broke the bolt in the pully and couldn't get a replacement in time.

Anyhow none of this fixed the problem. It sounds like my a bearing is bad or something. It happens when the clutch is engaged and disengaged and it gets louder when the RPM's are higher (it's something spinning with the engine). I don't know what to do. I'm afraid of saying it's something wrong with my clutch because it's going to cost me an arm and leg to fix.

Any more info just ask and I'll try to provide you with it.

-Thanks
