Default 98 to 00 engine swap

does anyone know some links to show how to swap a new(er) 00 engine from a new edge car into a 98 v6?

i would think most of it would be the same except for the ignition system, and possibly the different computer b.s.

If you are talking about going 98 v6 to 99+ v6 then you are better off doing a split port swap as opposed to a whole engine swap

I'd say find a engine from a junk yard,, my local junkyard has 5-10 of em, so im ready., they sell em for 400 or so.. So try to find a wreck and id do a whole changeover. It'd be easier,, and get like an 02 model or something,, 02's got upgraded fuel rails giving 25more ft lbs of torque over 99-01 models and 3 more hp.

yeah and what gave it the extra power was intake manifold runner control (IMRC) not the fuel rail lol

If he already has an engine then doing a swap shouldn't be all that bad if you have the equipment to pull an engine

Doing the split port swap or swapping motors is almost the same amount of work.

Here is a link with 3 threads that will help you out with the swap. I can answer alot of questions to as I have done the swap.
