Default Removing Air Silencer

Ive been putting off removing my air silencer for the longest time so I decided to go ahead and remove it tomorrow. Just want to know if you guys/gals had any advice before I jumped into it. I already have the K&N air filter. I did find this write up on it.

Just removed the air silencer, by far the easiest thing Ive done. Took it around the block after wards and I couldn't really tell a difference. For those that had it done to there 6ers could you tell a difference? I know when i turn it off it makes this whistling type noise but other than that it feels and sounds the same.
