From what i remember about verts they have an extra brace on the front to help stiffen it up. Its right in the way of long tube headers. It does unbolts with just two bolts and then it will allow the headers to slide in. You will need to get some sub frame connectors in there to stiffen things back up. From what i remember anyhow.

Don't know if the GT is the same but I just had to grind out a small notch out of the bracing that the verts have. I was able to install the LT's even without any modification to the brace but it does vibrate against it and makes for some unwanted noise and also wears on the header.

The subframes are cheap. Around 250-300 installed. Make sure to go with full length subframe connectors.
I went with the Maximum Motorsports powdercoated ones. Around 150 for the parts and another 100 - 150 to have them welded in. Make sure you find an experienced installer. There are some horror stories out there of car carpet catching on fire when subframes were being installed.

I would consider subframe connectors to be one of the first mods that should be done to a vert. Due to the nature of a convertible frame, the subframe connectors provide additional strength for power upgrades, but also keep the integrity of the car stronger so that you dont have leaks and other problems years down the road that are typical of convertibles.

The notch I had to put in was in the additional bracing that only the verts have. I know some guys that after they installed the subframes, removed this additional bracing since they no longer felt it was necessary. The notch I had to cut in it wasn't substantial. The bracing is steel square tubing so it remained very rigid even with the small notch in it. I'd imagine that some cars might not even need to notch it. There wasnt quite enough play in mine. It only vibrated when I took off too slow and the engine bogged down a little.
Again all of this was on a GT so I'm not sure that you would apply to a V6. Hope this helps !
