Default Hood and side scoop Question

Hi everybody. My dad recently bought himself a new Mustang and he gave me his old 99 Mustang. I plan on getting new wheels/suspension, new lights, maybe a gt bumper and a new exhaust, etc.

My question is, are there any replacements for the chintzy black plastic pieces inside the hood and side scoops? The only thing I could find was this http://store.cal-mustang.com/showdetl-7-10787-20-0.html. Sorry if this topic has been beaten to death, i searched and couldn't find anything.

Here are some pics!

the black plastic will look better than that chrome crap IMO. You could get Bullitt sidescoops and have no insert there at all.

Leave it alone dont put chrome or any other things there. You might want to look into get a GT hood scoop and adding that to your car to cover that up and make it look meaner.

Is there anywhere you can buy pre-painted gt hood scoops and are they hard to install?

I have seen a place online that sells them pre painted as well as on eBay i have seen them pre painted. Install isn't bad. Hardest part is getting it all lined up and marking and drilling holes then bolting it down.

Seeing as how you have a Bright Atlantic Blue stang I would HEAVILY advise against getting anything that is prepainted. Due to the nature of BAB, the paint tends to have issues with fading and thus if you order something prepainted it won't even come close to matching the color on the car right now.

The best thing to do would be to buy the GT hoodscoop and then leave them the car so they can mix the paint to match the car itself. It's not that hard of a process but since it'll be a trial and error sort of deal it may take them an afternoon to paint match properly.

I'm probably a 5-6 hour drive south of you; kinda far away.
