Default 1000 hp v6?

So my goal is to make 1000 hp out of my 2002 v6 mustang. Besides suspension and transmission stuff needed, i was looking to get a completely built 4.3 long rod stroker from supersixmotorsports.com and then putting on a twin turbo with around 20psi of boost. is this possible and if so what is the best kind of twin turbo to get?

1000hp? thats all? why not up it to 10,000hp.

lol.

just kidding.

dude, yer gonna get a lot of people wondering why you are gonna spend all the money on gettting a v6 to 1000hp. you would be far better off dropping in a v8. it will probably be a lot cheaper.

ok well i didnt mean 1000hp at the wheels. more around 850 rwhp. but anyways i was doing a search and found a video on youtube of a 1073hp 4.3L v6 built by Nelson Racing Engines so i think you non believers should check it out. My whole point is to make the ultimate sleeper. the people on this forum dont believe 1000hp is possible so what does that mean for those in the v8 crowd? Besides that, i think it would be a first in the v6 mustang community to have this much power. any thoughts and comments are appreciated.

Its going to be a lot more than you think you don't just drop in an engine and say ok now I can drive around with 1000hp. Where did this idea come from anyway I remember not to long ago you were questioning if a K&N intake would void your warrenty. This new plan just seems to have come out of no where. I would take it step by step. Try working for 3 or 400 first lets start reasonable..

1000hp is undrivable. That's the problem. As soon as you build a motor to make that much power you need a drag car or a Bugatti or a big rig to put it in. It's kinda like a 57 piece screwdriver... yeah it'll work but what the hell good is it?

well it may be looking into the future a bit but i should be getting a gt soon and want to use my v6 as a race car and not for my daily driver anymore. besides that, im trying to find everything that i will need in order to prep my car for that much power.

have you heared of the Brabus mercedes? It had 1000 ft bl of torque and when they stepped on the gas what happend... nothing it wouldnt move. turn of the traction control and the tires just spun.

I would think that 1000 hp would not be the same but you get what i mean.

Where? The highest hp V6 Mustang is Matt N from Delk. He's just over 630rwhp and going for more with this next build.

It is oblivious by your post that you have no idea what you are doing and have no sense of direction when it comes to building a high horsepower car. My advise to you is to stop and actually think about what you want before you make a thread where you sound like an fool.

There are two guys on this board with large HP numbers for a v6...

One is around 800 horsepower (iirc) the other is at like..430ish on a TT setup. Both to the wheels, I believe.

Both of which have invested an ungodly amount of cash into them in order for them to be driveable.

TBH I sense that you're a 16 year old kid or something thinking that you can easily hit 1,000 horsepower. These guys have invested a lot of time, and money into getting cars to hit up that high.

Before you come asking a moronic question and saying that we probably haven't heard of a v6 with a large amount of horsepower, read around for a bit, you'll find that quite a few of us know a thing or two, and that there are people on this board with v6's that are up there. And start learning whats in the engines of drag cars.. learn about engine components, figure out what you can do. Because as far as I know..you won't ever be able to do that on the block you've got.

Wait, oh im sorry, you mean to say you have seen every Mustang V6 dyno sheet out there? lol...

Exactly how positive are you that there is not anyone out there with a Mustang V6 with over 630 whp that just doesent post online?

lol

take yer own advice about posting while yer at it.

This guy is wondering if it is possible to build this. While it may not be practical and extremmly expencive with a lot of custom engineering. That really is no more foolish than making assumptions that nobody has a faster 3.8l than Matt N from Delk.

lol

It is obvious in your post you are oblivious to proper use of the English language. If you're gonna be a jerk to someone, at least try to get the grammar right.

My mechanic is working on a v6 vert for a professor in College Station, Tx. Its a 4.2L Stroker with a single turbo @ around 20 psi boost. I think they are shooting for around 600-650 rwhp.

Just an estimate of the cost:

4.2L Stroker - $6,000
Turbo - $6,000
8.8" rear axle swap w/ 3.73 - $1,000

Thats $13k. Then there's the 8pt roll cage, aluminum drive shaft, tires, springs, shocks, struts, c/c plates, relocated battery, headers, exhaust, yadda yadda

So, this guys spending close to 20k on this vert sixer, and hoping for at least 600 rwhp. To get to 1000hp, man, thats alot of custom fab work and alot of money. Are you going to do the work yourself? If not, is there even a performance in your area capable of doing a job like this and not totally screwing you over.

If your wanting an "ultimate sleeper", buy a Yugo and drop a Boss 302 crate engine in it, now thats a car no one would ever suspect could run low 12s. No matter what you do to your mustang, no one will consider it an "ultimate sleeper". Just the fact that its a mustang, regardless if its a v6 or v8, people will automatically assume its modified in some fashion. And just to let you in on a little secret, there will always be some one out there with more money and a faster car, so you gotta be realistic with what you want, unless getting was your goal.

I think you mean this guy:

https://mustangboards.com/members/white95v6.html
As far as I know this is the highest HP V6 on the boards, and is the same guy Mysteed is talking about.

guys first of all im no 16 year old kid. and i am planning on putting a fully race prepped 4.3L block in my car and not the stock pos block if some members could read correctly. i am only asking if it is possible. i know it will probably add up to around $40000 total but that is for any race car around. im only trying to see if the setup i am looking at is possible.

for 40k im sure it can be done.

You gotta understand, this is not something done very often if at all. you will pretty much be building an entire drivetrain and suspension setup and wrapping the mustang shell around it. This will be far more in depth than what most people here ever deal with.

Be prepared for a lot more money then 40 grand.

600 hp for 20 grand, sure. But you're entering a whole new realm.

The fabrication on things like this will be well over 40 grand I'd suspect.

So, save up till yer 50 or get a second out on a house, just to say "I HAS A VERY FAST V6" ...

you'll want to have a block custom made for you. Try to get something with a good wide bore spacing so your valves can be nasty big. With only 6 holes you should probably look to the 10,000rpm destroked big bore line rather than the large stroke method. The large stroke and the extreme power on so few main caps is going to make it hard to keep a crank in the thing. It's a helluva lot easier to keep it together with a short stroke. I'd be thinking you'll need to make some ugly boost... 20lbs would be a street tune.

Plan on at least 4" exhaust that exits just behind the front tires and don't plan on it being even remotely streetable. That's not going to happen with 1000hp and you'll want to identify a class for your racing aspirations. Most professional teams will drop a couple hundred thou to a few million on an average drag racing season in order to support campaigning such a car (and they'll blow up a couple motors in the process). There's no application for that much power in any other type of racing.

Ok I aint as smart on engines as the other guys but dammit this lil country boy from arkasas has common sense though!

My solution to this prob is buy that GT you was talkin about then sell your sixer. Use said cash to put some forced induction on the GT and spend prolly another 3 to 500 bucks on dressing the GT down to look like a V6 and THERE IS YER DAMN SLEEPER for pennies on the dollar LOL!
