Upgrade question
I got a supercharged 2000 V6 Mustang. And I got some money to spend on some upgrades. I recently got new gears (3.73) and t-lok. So my question is what would you upgrade next?
I was looking at getting a new Flywheel and new clucth or spending the money on getting lower and upper rear control arms. What would you guys think get me the best results for drag racing. I already have Eibach Pro kit springs and anti roll kit installed. I currently have about 255hp and abotu 263ft/lb of torque.
What do you guys think will help me out? I will be drag racing this weekend for the first time with the new gears and T-lok, so I really hope that the gears and t-lok drop my times under 15 sec.

what supercharger setup do you have? im just curious.
Since you have new gears and tlok i would go for full exhaust ( i dont know if you have this). A set of long tubes and h-pipe with whatever mufflers you like would be make some nice power gains on a blown v6.

Those would be great additions that will allow you to make more power. Based on your power levels I'm assuming that you have a Vortech at the basic psi level. I would put on a smaller pulley as well as the full exhaust and get a tune. Also, remember that since you are running a forced induction setup you should go with 2.5" piping for the entire exhaust.

You could drop some weight from the car... change to racing seats, tubular control arms, rear seat delete, airbag delete, etc.
You can also pull the front sway bar to help weight transfer.

True, but I would advise against this until he installs a rear swaybar. Weight reduction is a great way to drop your E.T.

I got a Vortech 8lb supercharger with 2.5 inch H pipe and long tube headers. Along with a K-member and Caster/Camber plates. So I know that the car has some weight reduction with the K-member. But it seems like you guys think that droping more weight from the car would be a better idea then getting new cutch and flywheel. I will need to see what type of pulley is on the superchager now. I assume the 8lbs refers to the boats, so I dont know what size the pulley is. But thanks for the info. I will look at droping some weight. If you can think of anything else I am all ears. Thanks,

every 100lbs of weight is worth .1 off your et just on the basic physics of it, and that's off an ideal run. Given that you're not up to the point of driving to the limit of your cars potential yet (this takes LOTS of practice) there's even more to be had on reducing weight.
mysteed had a good point about the swaybars.. forgot 6ers don't come with them in the back.

Swaybars and Anti roll kits are the same thing aren't they? I installed Eibach anti roll kits a couple of years ago, And I do remember that they had a front and rear bar. I assumed those were the same.
I do know that I got a way to go before I got the car to its limit. At this moment I am still drag racing with Traction control on. The car just sits at the light and spins the car if I turn it off. I am hoping that the t-lok will help me out some with some of my traction.

ahh... then pull that front bar. I don't use a lot of eibach stuff... too expensive for what you get.
the t-lok will help a lot. You can go ahead and turn off the traction control with that installed. You'll need to re-learn to launch your car with the new diff but it'll be a lot better.

Since you have full exhaust and gears and Tlok then i would say its time to upgrade that blower to a smaller pulley and get some sort of cooling setup on it. Either the vortech water-to-air or an air-to-air one. Or even a water/methonal injection kit. Thats what i would do if i had that setup.

As far as spinning the car at the line, that is easy fixed. Either you can get a set of wider and/or more sticky tires or you can ease it off the line then go WOT.
Oh, and the 8lbs means you are running 8psi, which means you still have the stock pulley. When you get a smaller pulley you will need to get a new tune plus a belt that is .5" smaller.

Right now I got a set of 16inch rims with Dunlop tires. I believe they are 225/55/16. I am looking at buy a set of Nitto 555R with 17rims. But that will be after Christmas.
As for miles I have about 60,000 miles on it. For the past two years I have put on only 2,000 miles. As I got an Escape for my daily driver.
