Default Torque converter?

My setup right now is an 02 v6 mustang. its an auto with 4.10 gears, posi-trac, bbk shorty headers, flowmaster 40 series dual exhaust, k&n air filter, and sct livewire. Im looking for something that will give me an edge over a gt of the same year and im told that this will do it. Ive heard that they shave anywhere from .35-.5 seconds off 1/4 mile. is this true and what would be the best kind for me to get??

its not worth adding a converter until you either add H/C/I or add a supercharger/turbo etc...
the reason is the converter that works well now will not work well when you add the above.
