Default Buying new exhaust, where should i get it

Hey, i was getting ready to purchase a dual exhaust kit for my 98 V6. I found a couple that fit with my stock Y-pipe which is nice because it keeps the cost down, and having a minimum wage job, this is quite important lol. So, the one i was thinking about buying was the MAC Catback with 3" stainless tips from american muscle. They look like a trustworthy site. I will also need a muffler and tailpipe hanger, does anyone know where i can pick these up or will i just have to go to the Ford dealership.

Also:
I plan on installing the exhaust myself, however, i have never attempted anything like this. Is it going to be complicated or do you think I will be able to figure it out; i dont have experience working on cars... It seems like i'll just have to bolt it on, but even that might be hard for me haha.

So, should i buy my exhaust from american muscle? And if so, do i even try to install it myself or should i get somebody that knows what theyre doing haha

American Muscle is trust worthy. I bet everyone on this site has bought something from them. And its the sites sponsor but anyway. I would buy it from them they are great everything that Ive bought was great I only had one problem and they called me as soon as it came up and it was fixed they a great.
I think u can buy the hanger kit from them but if not other sites have it or just go to ford. On the install i dont know its bolt on. For me id take it to a shop b/c i have no clue how to do that but others could do it its up to u.
just my personal pref i like welded kits not bolts on but that IMO

If you have the slightest amount of mechanical ability you can do it yourself. It's not complicated since you don't want to mess with your Y-pipe. And yes American muscle is a good reputable site that most members have used at least once. MAC also has a pretty good reputation for their exhaust. also I'm not 100% sure if it still works but if you enter Mustangboards as a coupon code you get 6% off. Also a muffler shop might have the hanger you need if you don't wanna go to a ford dealer.

So yes you should buy it from AM and you should be able to install it yourself with no problems.

Thanks guys. I think im gonna buy it pretty soon. As for installing it, the auto-academy kids at my high school, who know what they are doing, said they will be glad to work on my car. I trust them, and i'll be watching the whole time. It should work out fine. Plus its free

American muscle sells the hangers, and they are a very reputable company. I have the mac exhaust and love it, and it is a simple bolt on install. even if you have no previous experience make sure those who are helping you let you do most of the work, so you can gain some knowledge, it will be really simple.

If you have a lift, this swap takes about 20 minutes. It is really a simple task. You should watch and when they are done you will say "that's it".

This site has about the best prices out there....also free shipping.
