Default bought a new 07 V6 mustang, what should i get?

I just bought an 07 V6 Mustang Conv. and would like to add modifications to increase speed and overall performance. Although I have a fair understanding of the mechanics that goes into an engine, I would like to give my mustang a better edge without going all out on my budget. I really dont know what to add on first, I was thinking of getting a cold air intake first of all, specifically the Steeda Mustang Cold Air Intake Kit (05+ V6). Other than that, I really dont know where else to start from there, I would appreciate any help you guys can offer. I was thinking of spending around 2-3k for this first round of modification. Thanks alot!

CAI, gears, and a tune is a good way to start off

I absolutely hate when people say this because I know there are tons of factors that play into things....like insurance blah blah blah.....but if your planning on spending $2-3k on mods why didn't you splurge for a V-8? Now that I've got that stupid question out of the way.

CAI, tune and Gears will help you out big time.

Thanks for the info Dave04Mustang.
jjginats- I wanted to get a convertable first of all. I got the premium package and all, and finding a black conv V8 would cost more than around 3000. So i settled for the V6 and I like it alot. My insurance would also be significantly higher with a V8 also, which would play a factor.

I agree, just do a 4v swap because the 2v really isn't worth the trouble, right jack?

the best bang for your buck will be CAI, tuner, and gears (as said above) if the v6 exhaust is made the same as the V8 factory stuff then dont worry about changing it. my v8 exhaust is nice and straight has nice easy mandrel bends so i only changed the mufflers out to change the exhaust note on it.

i noticed you said first round of mods, if you can swing it now a turbo will yield impressive results. there are a lof of kits that are out there, just watch your warranty. some companies are starting to folow thr Roush model and are offering a drivetrain warranty on your car. (yes technically speaking the Roushcharger will void your factory warranty, but Roush underwrites a new drivetrain warranty).

2-3 grand will install a bad-*** nitrous system with all the bells and whistles and you'll still have some money left over
