Default Thinking about buying a new daily driver...

I have been looking at getting an 08 Maxima SE, Lexus IS350, Acura TL Type S or the Infiniti G35 sport. When I get one of these cars I will be putting my SVT Focus up for sale if not then I will just trade it in.

Anyway; I have my sights set on the Infiniti G35 sport with the tech, premium and nav package. Car comes with 18's and 306hp. 0-60 in 5.5 seconds and 1/4 around 13.9 @102. Has all the electronic gadets that I am looking as well; bluetooth, nav with realtime traffic monitoring, reversing camera, etc, etc.

Just wondering if anyone on here has any experience with these cars or knows some one that has feedback. I have been on the infiniti boards and they all rave about the car.

A family member had the G35 it was a great car really reliable, comfortable and quick. A friend of mine had a Maxima the thing was constantly having issues but it was the 2002 version so from his experience I would really want one and then to me a Lexus is great but its just about paying for a Toyota thats badged as a Lexus in a way but those are very reliable cars. Out of your choices I would go with the G35

WOW; first time I have heard someone say they are overrated. They compete with the 335 bmw and are about 10k+ cheaper fully optioned out. All the edmunds and other reviews from magazines have the car top rated. I really like this car and think its a great value for everything that comes on the car including the performance not to mention the sport suspension and brakes!!

I use to sell acuras. Anything from acura is top notch. The quality in build from the infinity and the acuras is different. With acura having much nicer materials used in the entire car. Leather, sound system,features..etc...I think the acura tl-s is a bit underpowered. I think its pushing like 286 HP or something like that. But, the good thing about acuras is that you don't have to choose a trim level like infinitys...only one trim level and the only available option is the type of tires that you want on it. Everything else is standard. Navi,HID Bi-Xenon lights, Nicer leather than the regular TL, 6 speed or paddle shift (your choice) and brembos...plus acuras have the number 1 resale value..

My friend has the 6-speed G35, I believe it's a couple years old. It's a pretty nice car and pretty quick for what it is.

We just bought a 2007 G35S sedan and its Great. has so many features on it.
That car has so much power its awsome. Dual Ram air intakes IMO thats cool.

I have to tell you the blue tooth doesnt work as well as I thought. It has some voice recognition problems. But other than that its the Best. The seats are the most comfortable ever.

Cheddar - Thanks for sharing that! One of the local dealerships has 3 of the cars that I want with the exact options and colors. I also get VPP pricing and am doing a 15k a year lease for 36 months. I hope to have something in the next week or so. Glad you are enjoying the car, its amazing how fast this sedan runs!! Did you get the sport version?

book value is right around 11k. I would take a reasonable offer in that area. You have an interest in it? Let me know and we can talk.

Well I broke down and bought me a new 2008 Maxima SE. fully loaded with every available factory option including chrome wheels. Bad thing is the wheels are on back order for 2 more weeks . Very impressed with the car so far having owned it now for 1 week. Very nice and comfy, bluetooth in this thing is JUST BADASS!! Bose sounds great for a factory radio, nav is nice and works awesome. Heated steering wheel feels so good on these cold mornings. Engine is very strong and super quiet, the new CVT tranny is very nice and sooooooooo smooth!! this smart key thing is awesome as well. never have to use the key fob or key to start or unlock the car!!

Here is what the car looks like - http://www.nissanusa.com/maxima/

Once I get my wheels and the car polished with my special black products I will post up some pictures.

no doubt I like the G35 better however its not as big inside at the maxima and having a 6yr old and 3yr old I need more space in the back with all of their activities. Once the lease runs out on this one in 3yrs I will likely get the g35 or its replacement. The 09 maxima is due out in the next 6 months as its supposed to have the 306hp motor but still remain FWD however its supposed to look like the cls benz.
