Remember, the megapixel amount is not everything. It might have high resolution, but it might still have a crap pic, might be all faded and washed out. I would look for a good 5 megapixel camera for about the same price, gonna get a lot better features and it will probably have better color representation and all of that.
I have to agree with grimms about sony's quality. They make decent stuff, but none of it is anything to scream about in my view.
While all of thier stuff is decent, Panasonic and LG make better TV's, Xbox is a better game system(so far), Denon makes way better front end audio gear (except thier extreme high level SACD players but who has 4,000 for that?) Cannon, Olympus, HP, and others make better camera's.
Thier speakers are normally nothing to scream about, Thier car audio Explode line totally blows, thier top of the line learning remotes dont hold a candle to phillips pronto, etc, etc.
Pretty much, sony isnt at the bottom of anything as far as thier products, but they really arent at the top either. Solid gear for decent price, but you can always find better gear for a lower price if you look around.

well of course you know im going to say canon owns your face, but that's just my opinion .. that sony 7.2 mp only has a 3x optical zoom, forget digital zoom its crap, dont use it.
my last camera was a 5.1mp hp i only ended up paying $30 for (discounts from hp for working at bby).. and i ended up hating it because of the zoom. it couldn't focus on ANYTHING up close.. it pissed me off so bad. it was good at first though, i upgraded from a 0.3 mp sony mavica lol. the best camera i've owned so far is definately the canon rebel i have right now. im just so amazed at how better quality every picture ends up as compared to my 5.1 hp

I just got a FujiFilm E510 5.2 Mega Pixel and LOVE it. Granted this is my first dogital camera and don't really have much to compare it too, but I think it's a high quality camera.

I have the Cannon Rebel XT and its awesome. Not as big as the higer end ones and not cheap like the lower end ones. The only Camera after this is what the pros use. I have a 85 mm lens and 75 -300 mm lens. Cannon has a reabate until Jan 16 ,the more you buy the bigger the rebate. Im getting back $285 for the camera and 2 lens. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1099394810083
