I drive a 99 v6 and i am tired of being slow....So i was wondering if it would be better if i got a super charger for the v6 or if it is possible to do a swap of some sort with like a cobra or gt motor.

The easiest and cheapest swap would probably be a '93 Lightning 5.8, although a mod motor swap isn't impossible either.

with the amout of money would spend on upgrading the trans, suspension, and rear end you could put a hefty down payment on a cobra..srry to burst ur bubble but i find v6 to v8 swaps too expensive and too much time to keep intrest in

EDIT: you would also need a computer and harness for the v8 too..and fuel pump/tank (if going w/ a cobra tank)...soo many parts....so much to go wrong

turbo or supercharger. You don't need to extra 2 cylinders and the extra couple hundred pounds to be fast. Upgrade to an 8.8" rear and slap a blower or turbo on it. Enjoy.

For real go look for a used blower and get some gears and tune from www.vmptuning.com and you will be set.

like everyone mentioned v6 to v8 swaps are very costly and generally just arnt worth it. Buy yourself a used procharger and do some exhaust work, you'll be good for 300whp or so. But it really all depends on how fast you want to be?

do you have a specific horsepower goal?

Well he said he's tired of being slow...so I guess he wants to be faster then the average turbo charged rice.

And why get a GT when you could just get a cobra and why get a cobra when you could get a ZO6? You know what go buy a Terminator your 2 valve is worthless...I hope you catch my drift dude.

my guess would be a mod. perhaps if you cool out just a tad on the whole v6>* fight starting bs that might not happen.

Just a thought.

but honestly Nothing pisses me off more then a guy asking a question about doing something to his car, and someone else telling him to buy something diffrent. I had people do it to me before and i hate it. The guy wants to know how he can make HIS car faster, not what car he should buy.

your point is taken and valid. I for one can totally sympathize. You don't know how many people ranted at me for doing a 2v 5.4 instead of a 4v. Pissed me off.

perhaps just a little whoa back on the angst stick would do. Defeat the counter offers with your knowledge in the area and reitterate that they're asking for v6 performance (in this case with a swap as an option).

You all know my answer... 5.4L 2v or 4v would really make a difference. But he'd have to totally replace the driveline and that's just silly.

not to mention a lot of stuff in dash, and ECU etc . . big pain. I looked into it for my car a long time ago.

Matt's 95 dynos at ~600whp my my 94 dynos at just under 400whp

you can make it happen.
