Ban. Zero contribution of anything useful. If he seemed like anything more than a computerised response machine and was open to opinion and input, I'd vote let'em stay and take whatever.

Thankyou, exactly what i meant.

The brakes have been squeaking/squealing off on for a couple weeks but now more than they have been. Plus the calipers themselves looking pretty bad, prev owner didn't take care of car so well in certain area's. (found after the fact)

So the rotors can't be shaved? Shave the rotors, buy a set of new brake pads, and if the calipers are shot, get new calipers and save yourself a few hundred dollars.

If you're really hellbent on spending that much money on a brake system, go with a Wilwood brake system..

I wouldn't justify myself to spend 1000 dollars for what I already have. No getting around it. You should be able to see by looking that they are 4 piston calipers..

Get yourself some brake cleaner and clean em, and paint with some hi temp paint with a brush.

I got new rotors and pads and i still have a squeak because my back pass side axles warped.

Don't buy something you don't need.

Bipolar, I swear. If that had been the first post, there would have been no trouble, Lol. If the brakes are making noise then the pads and/or rotors may need to be changed. Ugly calipers, probably should just live with it unless you want it to be a show car. I've got Mach 1 brakes and rear cobra brakes, when I do open track driving, I heat the calipers up so much they change color and rust after. My front calipers are a very light gray and the backs are blue-ish white (previously black).

FAIL! SN95 chassis Cobra brakes excluding the the 2000' R are not 4 piston, they're 2 piston. The 2000' R is the only pre-SN197 car to get 4 pot clamps.

As you can see... not all info is good and not all derision is without merit.

I love the play on 'continual'.

You know me. I like a little mixing up now and then. But it does get old when someone is boring like this fucktard is. I almost can't do anything with someone that doesn't have any creativity.

I say do whatever you want. If you ban him, fine. If you don't, consider me one of the ones who will do the mistreating.

Well, we like to hear questions w/o retardedness and a little effort of the asker's part to answer their own question... just a little effort. You clearly used zero effort. That's the only way a person could end up asking a question like yours that boils down to this:

Hey guys, I want to spend a grand on brake parts I already have cause I want those uber cool Mach1 brakes that I already have. I mean, like, jeez... Quit being mean to me people...I want to UPGRADE my brakes...whats wrong with that??? I mean...why am I getting flamed for wanting to UPGRADE????

Maybe cause you think upgrade is the same as samegrade...which is exactly what you'd be doing by putting Mach brakes on your Mach.

Then you took a trucklaod of sand and a funnel and affixed a jig to pour the sand directly down your own vagina. And even after all this time...its still sandy...funnel still in place..trucks standing by.

BTW..putting "administrator" as your custom user title is gay.

AH! I didn't know they weren't 4 piston... Then whats so friggin special about cobra/mach brakes??

Just bigger rotors? and harder pressing pistons?

99+ twin piston GT calipers and pads are actually just as powerful (they're used on most corvettes over the past 10 years) as the cobra/mach caliper. The real difference is in rotor diameter and thus swept area (the area contacted by the pad in 1 rotation). The greater diameter/area means more friction and more capacity to absorb and dissipate the heat generated by that friction.

There are differences in a few of the years and models as to piston diameter but all in all, the diameter increase at the rotor is the gain.

The cobra R and GT500 brakes that are 4 piston use those extra pistons to more evenly apply the clamping load to the pads so that they more efficiently generate friction over their whole surface area where a single large piston won't be so even about the load distribution. More even distribution heats the pads more evenly and you get less brake fade and better bite. Twin pistons are a half measure... it's better than a single piston but doesn't solve the face:face differences in pressure or the fact that aluminum calipers flex under extreme load and unbalance the application of clamping load. 4 piston calipers improve that situation by spreading the load over more of the caliper so no 1 spot gets vastly more than another. Decreased caliper deflection and increased heat generation means faster braking and less wear and tear and reduced fade, etc...

EDIT: and for krenogin, that was a really good question. Most people never even decide to understand the actual answer much less ask that question despite its importance.
