i think i made up my mind and im gonna spring for some 18" black chrome wheels but anybody got pics of them on a 99-04. what about other black chrome wheels like the saleens Fr500 or any other type. I think im gonna get the fr500's but im want all 4 to be 9" so i can rotate the **** out of em

Black chrome FR 500's are my favorite wheels eva!!!! Pictures don't do justice for the finish of the rims.

the red mach 1 has the style i like, i think im gonna get those, although the 03 cobra do look friggin sweet and so do the saleen style but i like the subtle lip of the fr500. I liked the fr500 after i saw them on vsixmustang's car, but i think the black chrome would look better with my paint....trop grn same as switch's car, and i am gonna use some 1" spacers in the back so i can still rotate em.......thanks for the pics it really helped me finally make a decison. Now the tire decision dammit

 

I think that red mach with black chrome has convinced me to get those wheels!

 

Haha how do you know what my car looks like? I don't think I've ever posted a pic of my car here, lol.

 

When you say black chrome,, is it still a finish that has the same weakness's as chrome, such as pitting n tarnishing and really not liking road salt? These are very interesting but where i live has all weather conditions and the best choice for a wheel is aluminum like i have.

 

I hate to be the one to correct some of you guys but MOST of the rims posted in the pics are actually not black chrome. The only ones that ARE black chrome (IIRC) are the dark rims on the red Mach 1. The other rims posted are just like the ones I have and those are referred to as "hypercoated" AKA gun medal finish. I am also wanting the black chrome rims for my car. A member here that goes by the name Swervo has some black chrome FR 500s and I love em. I plan on getting some for my car and ditching the hypercoated ones.

Pic one looks like it actually has BOTH finishes, hypercoated on the front and black chrome on the back. Could be the angle and or lighting.
The pic that actually looks like a black chrome rim to me is pic #3

 

I know for a fact that every pic I posted is black crome and to me the cobra looks to be black chrome too.

 

Ok I assume your reffering to the white cobra (those very well could be black chrome and probably are really. . . looks real close with that angle) But I am certain the rims on the black cobra are not.

And is it just me? Or does that one pic of the Mach with the chics at the gas pump. . . those rims REALLY look different on the front and back.

I took the pics of the white Cobra and the Mach with the cobra bumper that's how I know they are black chorme. On the other Mach you can tell they are black chrome and not hypercoated. I can't say for sure on the black Cobra.

Depending on the angle of light and the angle you see them black chrome changes very quickly, That's what makes them stand out so much in person. The wheels look so different because the front wheel isn't at the exact same angle as the rear. I love that picture because it shows the full range of reflection.

His car looks awesome but none of those pictures do those wheels justice IMO.

I am absolutely 100% positive that the black cobra's rim's are black chrome. They're just in sunlight so they appear lighter.
