it'll fit just fine as long as the backspacing of the rim is right.

with a 17x9 wheel size I'd jump up to a 275/40/17 (which is about perfect for 94-04 mustang wheel/tire combos). If you want the 245/45/17 tires (which comes with a small price benefit) then drop to a 17x8 rim.

SUMITOMO TIRES SUCK! You buy sumitomo for price cuz they come with zero performance in dry weather. They're a mediocre wet weather tire. Nitto NT555, BFG KDW and TA/KD and Kumho Ecsta 712 or MX series are all better options that are cost effective.

dish depth and backspace are somewhat unrelated (for the most part) on 8" and wider rims. There's lots of room to play with and overall rim design plays into what can and cannot be made with a dished lip. I run 18x9 front and 18x10 back with 265 and 285 section width tires and both front and back are dished. You should read up on tire and rim tech at wikipedia.org or howstuffworks.com though as you're making decisions without all the info based on what some dumbass (me) tells you on a web forum. Not generally a good idea. I may know the info I give is at least nominally accurate but you can't be as sure and should sanity check me.

Those 17x9 rims will fit great and a 245/45/17 will fit them but I would step up to a 255/40/17 to have the tire fit the rim better if you don't want to spend the money on 275 wide tires.
