BFG Drag Radial 2 - How are they dangerous under rain?
Hi guys,
I recently installed a Vortech V2 on my '01 GT and the 4.10 combination is overkill on the street. I keep spinning until 50 mph. I have ET Drags for the track but I like to do some spirited driving on the street too. I keep reading that people who installed BFG Drag Radials on their 350+ rwhp car don't spin in first gear, I'd like to give it a try. :P
My concern is driving under rain. I'd obviously take all necessary precautions but I don't want to risk my life and my car. Is driving on highway under rain THAT dangerious with the BFG DRs? Did people who wrecked their car take risks or if they simply aquaplaned when driving in straight line at 60 mph on the cruise control?
Thanks for your help.
Regards,
Yan

rudder = thing that steers boats.
rutter = thing that carves grooves in the road?
you should not drive drag radials in the rain... they're a DRY WEATHER tire. it's not just straight line grip that you'll lose.. lateral grip goes to **** when it's wet anyway. Adding DR's just makes it lethally worse.

DR's were never intended to be used on the street. They were meant so drag racers could have a DOT tire to get them to and from the track. You can get away with it with Nittos because they are really shitty DR's. They just look like DR's but don't act like them.

Well with the cruise set thats asking to spin out and crash in the rain.
If drive wheels break traction rpm's go through the roof. Next thing you know you are hitting the brakes to stop the cruise. wheels lock, you spin, best case scenario you only slide off the road.
