Question Caster camber kit needed? (pics inside)

Just lowered my car with Steeda sports springs. Before I take it to get aligned should I get the Maximum motorsports caster camber kit? I'm not sure if it can be aligned without it or not

best to just bring it in and see if it can be aligned then you will know if you need them or not. It's hit or miss and I think the steeda's are 1" so you will probably be fine

If they can't align it into spec you shouldn't have to pay for an alignment, since they wouldn't be aligning it.

You dont need them for Steeda they are only a 1.25" drop. I have bullit springs with no isolators up front and gave just over 1" drop no CC plates here.

so how much of a drop would need C/C plates? 2" or more?

1.5 or more you more then likely gonna need them. Steeda,bullits you dont i know for sure.

the steeda sports look pretty good thats a 1.25" drop. should get away without cc plates. shocks and struts are always a good thing to replace no matter the drop when putting lowering springs in

we got 255 tires on ours and the alignment shop told us they couldnt align ours . is that because of the tires or is it lowered? it looks lowered next to other mustang, but we bought it used so im not sure.

Tires wont change if it can be aligned or not. Unless you have super under sized tires that make the car even lower. Its because your car is lowered.

Depends on the person, i like how my car sits and i drag race/Daily drive my car so this is the best combo of DD,drag, and being a bit lower. Talking about bullitts here. I also live in a town with lots of monster speed bumps and just couldn't go lower if i wanted to my exhaust and subframe connectors hit the ground as is.

It looks to me like all you need is the toe set. It looks (grant that I'm eyeballing this in pictures) like you have a bit of toe out and that's going to make it darty and wear the insides of the tires. With the -1-ish camber you're running a little more toe in will help.

EDIT: BTW... every car is different. If you want easy alignment... get the plates. If you want to be stuck with what you have...don't get the plates.

what brand shocks/struts do you reccommend?

so going from the stock 225 tires to the 255s wouldnt make us need caster camber? it was lowered when we bought it?

that number is only the tread section width... it has nothing to do with alignment. Depending on the backspacing of the rim there may be a little change in scrub radius but that's not an issue. Generally your choice of rim and tire, as long as they're otherwise properly fitting for the vehicle, have almost nothing to do with your ability to get it properly aligned. Pre-existing uneven wear will show up in a pull or wander after an alignment though and people often blame their alignment or the suspension in general for the problem when a tire pressure change would fix it. For that reason I try to do my alignment just after putting tires on the car.

Excessive tire wear and possibly shabby handling will be your only real indications that you need CC plates in all reality if you're not a racer or a wrench.
