Lowering 04 with longtubes
So I'm looking into a relatively inexpensive way to lower my 04. I'm thinking of getting a set of take off tokicos from a mach or bullitt and pairing them up with a set of springs. I originally wanted H&R super sports but I'm kind of leaning more towards a 1" drop now that I have longtubes. They seem to sit much lower than the stock manifolds and h pipe. I may even just look for a set of take off bullitts. I was just curious as to what suspension everyone is running with longtubes and if they have run into any issues.

After doing some searching I've come across this is anyone running this kit? Are the tokico HP's similar to the bullitts?

Also came across a guy selling mach 1 shocks/struts (not quads) for $100...good deal?

Pretty nice deal. As longtubes DO sit pretty low, I would still go with a set of h&rs and some decent shocks and struts. If you leave the isolators on the springs, you wont get as much of a drop. I have headers and a mid pipe on mine and it sits relatively low and I dont have any problems going anywhere. I cant make it up steep inclined driveways or big speed bumps but I see mabye 1 or 2 of those a year anyways.

I have a 1.5" drop w/ Eibachs and after I put long tubes on, places where I wouldn't bottom out, I now bottom out on. Towards the end of the summer, I'm getting the FRPP handling pack since it's the Bullitt/Mach1 shocks, struts, springs, and sway bars. Basically, don't go past a 1.5" drop.

Thanks for the input. My buddy has his dropped about an 1" and he says he scrapes on small driveways. I'm definately not going more than 1.25" if I even go that low. I was really looking into the bullitt stuff because of price but maybe I'll wait and just piece the parts together since the bullitts don't lower as much as I would like. Who knows I can't decide!

Get the bullitts I have LTs and have no issues. I did remove the front isolators to lower it a bit more. Im going with mid length headers so i may lower it more if the front bumper permits if not I will stick with my current setup.

i got bullits with no bottom front iso's because like you i dont want to scrape my exhaust on everything. Car sits 1" lower all around (front wasnt a full 1" till i pulled the iso's out) but its enough drop to make it not look rediculous anymore. Plus there a good street/strip spring which i love.

Yeah I think I'm leaning towards the bullitts. I don't have many speedbumps around but I work on my car in a garage that is up a somewhat steep driveway. Next time I'm there I am going to measure how close the lt's are when I'm starting the hill. Maybe once she's not my DD I'll lower more and not worry about it!

I think it is i mean i dont know how some people even rock these 1.5-1.75" drops that just doesnt work around here. Some of the speed bumps at UCF alone would kill it.
