Good Price on Adjustable Struts!!!
Hello! I'm new to the Mustang Forums. I've been a mustang lover for about 6 years now and I finally have the time to really get into some performance mods. I've had a few minor things done to my 99 GT Convertible like a cold air intake, X-pipe and flowmasters, billet grille, lowered with Eibach springs.
It's been lowered for two years and it was lowered with just the lowering springs. I didn't have the entire kit and got the springs from a guy up the street who was selling his GT. Well, my front left strut is very bad now, and I want to replace the front two. Does anyone know where I can get a set of front adjustable struts that aren't going to cost me an arm and a leg? I figured I might as well get the adjustable ones. I don't want to spend over $150 on struts. Thanks!

Howdy and welcome. Randy can sure help you find the parts you need for your struts, there's also a suspension section that can help answer alot of your questions as well. Personally, I prefer to run non-adjustable Tokico struts and shocks, they cost less than Bilsteins and perform about as good. I don't race at the track much and haven't felt the need to use adjustable ones. If you get a chance, post some pics of your ride.

now we do offer the Bilsteins frt struts that are used on the 2003/04 Cobra's for $149.00 each + shipping

Thanks Randy! I actually took it to the shop and it turns out that I don't need to replace my struts or mounts but I need to replace the bushings and it's aftermarket with Eibach lowering kit. Anybody know where I can even look for something like that?

The needed parts weren't for the struts, they're for the camber adjustments. I need a new rubber mount, and bolts for my camber adjustment. After I had my camber adjustments put on, the bolt and washers came off and the strut popped out so they had to put different ones on there. I attached a couple of pictures for you to see. I got these off of ebay and I wouldn't know where to get parts for camber adjustments. Would I have to buy an all new camber adjustment?

If your needing to fix you camber problems, I'd just order a set of MM 4 bolt cast/camber plates and be done with it. That'll take care of most/all your camber issues, plus they look better than stock.
Edit: And before anyone asks, yes, I really need to clean that engine bay...

The camber adjustments that I have aren't stock. The stupid mechanics in this hick town jacked them all up when I had them put it in and I've been having problems with the right one ever since. By the way, I was thinking the same thing about my engine bay being dirty when I posted the pics!
The adjustments weren't at all expensive so I'll just have to check out the MM plates. Thanks!

Take them to a decent performance shop and they should be able to install them pretty quick. Most places around here charge like $270 for parts and labor, so if you already have the parts, maybe 50-70 for the labor depending on their rates. After that, go to NTB or someplace like that and get an alignment $99ish. I also went with R3dn3ck's recommendation of a -1 degree of camber for a little extra driving stability. The steering on both my rides are rock solid.

I just don't know what the deal was. This guy who looked at it is actually a good mechanic and he's going to fix it once I can find the parts, but the other guy that worked there is the one who screwed it up. I really have had no problems with how it handles since I put them on but I've never driven a lowered car before either so I guess it seems fine to me. Maybe PCola will know where to take it. He lives 45 minutes from my hick town. I guess that's what you get when you start modifying.... I appreciate the advice though!

check craigslist... I'm always saying that and nobody listens but I get deals almost weekly off there. You MUST know what you're looking at when you do business there but if you're ready that's where the deals are.
See if you can find yourself a set of take-off tokico struts from a bullit or mach 1. You'll be properly valved and they're just about right for most modest rate lowering springs. If you used a really aggressive spring like a race spring (over 700lb/in) then I'd step up to Tokico Illuminas and I'd buy them new.

Adjustable struts are an unnecessary expense for the street and will probably be a lot easier to live with. I have KYB shocks on my work truck and they are excellent! They are about 9 years old now so ,you'll get good service from KYB's. I plan on using them when the time comes.
