Default Warranty Problem

So I took my car to Ford yesterday to have a axel seal leak repaired and a oil leak that looked like it was coming from the right valve cover gasket area.

Ford called today to let me know they fixed the axel seal leak however they wouldn't fix the oil leak because the valve cover gaskets were not an original Ford part!

I mentioned to them that I purchased the car brand new from them about 2 years and 3 months ago and this was only the second time my car has been serviced. Once for the air conditioner and this time of the 2 leaks. I don't take my car anywhere else obviously because it is still under original warranty with only 24000 miles on it.

My question if anyone knows (proof would be very helpful) did Ford ever use orange valve cover gaskets? You can clearly see that they are orange on my car and the dealer told me Ford has never used orange before. They were going to contact Ford directly to make sure. As of now I have my car back until they figure it out. I told them over and over again that I've never had the valve covers off and considering I bought the car new they must have come like that.

they're just trying the typical lets F*ck the customer routine. if you've seriously never messed w/the covers, and they are stock from ford, raise holy hell with them. sit there while they call ford. insist that they fix it, go up thru the ranks in the service dept till they take care of it. it seems the more someone bitches and moans about a legit claim the quicker they take care of it.

maybe i'm just a jackass, but that's what i'd do. lol

Well I have to take it back in anyways on the 16th to get the seat belt and weatherstrips fixed because they had to order parts. I figured I would give them until then and if they still say they won't fix then I will start to argue and make them call Ford while I'm there.

they're clearly out there then... more than one guy here has them. Tell the service writer he's about 2 seconds from a lawsuit and he'd better honor the warranty or have a news station on his doorstep the next day.
