most dealers won't void your warranty with different cat back exhaust. I would ask the service department of the dealer where you purchased the car. If the check engine light comes on or you have any problems with vehicle related to installing the exhaust they may not warranty depending on the situation. I work at a Acura dlr svc dept and we have never voided any of the peoples warrantys because of a muffler change. most of the aftermarket exhaust systems have not netted much if any horsepower gains over the factory system.,although they do offer a little more of a muscular sound from the vehicle.

I would look into getting a set of steeda underdrive pulleys for a good bang for the buck.

That all depends on the dealer.I installed a shifter in my 04 and they were very cautious about saying whether they would or would not warranty a grind in the trans. It turned out to be one of the stops had worked loose and wouldn't let the shift lever go all the way into 4th.With the new variable valve timing engine and the other new things I've heard about I would be carefull what I put on the car.

underdrive pulleys would most likely void the warranty. i had the same exact question when i got my 03 stang gt. and so i went to a ford dealership and asked. basically its like this. anything that changes/alters/upgrades/whatever the timing, working, displacement, or firing of the pistons, engine, fuel management, belts etc. for example: as we all know, a supercharger WILL void the warranty. a performance chip WILL also. fuel injectors. ANY kind of nitrous. im pretty sure the underdrive pulleys would bc it deals w/ the belts. changing out the intake manifold will too. also if you ever lift the engine out or basically just take it out to do any kind of work(i.e. headers). headers will void it. the following(i have asked the dealership remember) will NOT void the warranty: cold-air intake, throttle body/plenum, intake spacer, aftermarket x or h-pipe, and catback. those 5 i know for sure wont void it but im not sure what else wont. i would actually like to know if there was anything else bc after i order the throttle body/plenum combo, i dont have really anything else. so anything else would be greatly appreciated. i hope what i said helped though.

This is an issue that WILL NEVER be clearly answered.

I say, if you go with FRPP parts and have a Ford Dealer install them, you are probably good to go. Otherwise, you are always taking a chance.

As a general rule, the dealer has to prove that the mod caused the failure. But this allows for a lot of "room". Say you blow a head and you have a catback and they claim "the added hp caused the failure" or "the catback caused a lean condition."

Clearly some things will void certain parts of the warrenty. If you install Steeda UDP's on your own and then have alternator problems, for example.

Good idea to call the dealership guys, can't hurt.

That sucks that your main seal was leaking at only 5,000 miles. But the reason they covered the work IS probably because exhaust and intake have nothing to do with the cause of that problem.
If it had been a head gasket or something like that, you might have been out of luck..

Anyone know if FRPP gears or any R&P gears can void the engine warranty?
Just thought I'd ask.
