Default 1995 problem starting

When I start my '95 5.0, it chugs for a few seconds before it turns over. It always starts, but it's embarrasing. I already replaced my plugs and wires. Also, sometimes I have to press my alarm keypad a few times before it disarms. Any ideas?

check the distributer cap and rotor...

and run some fuel injector cleaner...

sounds like a fuel problem... could bea bad fuel filter, etc... or your lines/injector could be a little gunked up

and check your timing too...

when does it do it? (morning, night, all the time?) is it dry, raining or wet outside? when the car is cold, hot, both? when its hot , or cold outside? have you done any work to the car lately?.............. need info, could be alot of things for example if it only does it when its wet or damp outside (just after you washed the car or ran in a puddle of water) the dist. cap or even the dist. case could be cracked letting moisture in making for hard start till the heat from the spark dries the moisture, or maybe the coil is losing signal from carbon build up on wheel or pick up, try cleaning it. again could be anything loose timing chain? info info info!!

i seem to have the same problem on my 1995 as well. its like its vapor locking or something b/c i have to pump the gas like 10 times before it starts. its weird b/c it always starts early in the morning when its really cold, but like after a day at school sitting in the sun its stubborn.

i had a problem like that too on my 95 GT and it ended up being a lose wire on the distributer, check the wires plugging into the coil as well as the distributor. Hope this helps.

Does it feel like it's laboring to start? Do you have headers? You might have cooked the starter, they stockers go really quick qith any extra heat. Get a new single wire starter with gear reduction to spin the motor faster.... or it could be any of the myriad of other ideas.

check your fuel pressure. before you turn the car on it should still be up there. if its not then the check ball in the fpump is no longer working which means it is not holding pressure to the rail and leaking back through the lines and into the tank which in turns means longer crank times. ive seen this a few times.
