Aftermarket head unit with stock speakers?

Mustang stereo
I have felt your pain brother; I went through hell trying to upgrade my factory mach 460 system after there was a problem. I have blamed a few installers myself. I think the factory stereo is too non-standard and allot of installers just don't know the nuances of the system. I bought a Kenwood amp because the guy at the retail stereo store told me my factory amp(s) were toast. The amp only made the problem louder. I ended up buying a wiring harnesses, new speakers all the way around, and eventually a new head unit, and the sound still sucked. I took my car from shop to shop, and each place said they had the solution. I wish I could give you some economical advice, or tell you exactly what needs to done, but I did not learn anything through this experience. A few days ago I went to another stereo shop and told them to replace everything, build a new system and keep the Kenwood amp. I really wanted a head unit with a built in Sirius satellite receiver. So I had them install a Pioneer DEH-P6700MP head unit and 4 TS-D680R 2-way speakers. I spent $750.00 (you can do better, I looked on e-bay after the fact) and the car ROCKS, it sounds awesome. I just wanted to tell you that you were not alone in your car audio dilema.
