ok..here is a picture of the "professional" wiring of my taurus(picture 1 and 2).....lemme tell ya...when i bought the new wire harnesses....holy crap..i vowed never to take my car to get wired any where ever again....the harnesses i bought pluged right together..no splicing of the wire.....(pic 3 )...i was dissappointed in Best buy.....remember that folks....nvr take to any place like best buy....

edit: that lone blue thing in the second pic was for my subs....

it was really easy to hookup and install the head unit into a bracket....just gotta be fearless and do it yourself.....next is rear speakers and subs...

ill pull apart my deck tommorow morning...there are 2 parts u need....one of them is the Metra Vehicle Wiring Harness (80-1771)...the other i forget wat it was...but it was also made my metra......its a gay setup but its well worth it....the only concern is that u have a mach system....i have a non mach so it was a plug and play....just ask a circuit city or best buy rep wat u should do..they have the know it all about htat stuff but they suck at installation....

is that a retorhicle question or are u being serious...if ur being serious.....u need that little space for the 2x7 deck to fit into a 4x7 hole (2001-2004).....in the 1999-2000 its a direct fit since it has 2 2x7 holes

not the best buy around here... the best buy i went to is FULL of retards! i went to like 9 out of the 10 guys in the car audio department and each one was a retard... they didnt know SHYT... AT ALL!! i can not express enough that they didnt know anything! some of them try and confuse you and get all complicated... but they still dont know anything. finally i talked to the MANAGER of the car audio department and he got my car setup... i replaced the head unit and the door and rear speakers.... the installation went well but only because the HEAD installer did mine... he told me later on that most the guys dont know what there doing... haha! best buy is just retarded overall. :dots: :dots:

I have the headunit right below that one, like the 7700 series one. Those two pioneers kick some serious ***, great head unit.

If you have the Mach 460 or 1000, i think it's a lot harder than that. If it's just the normal headunit, than yea, just hook up them wires
