Default new sub box idea...

okay so last night i thought of a clean (or i think it would be) sub box designe, but i wanted to ask yall what yall would think...

i was thinking about fiberglassing my spare tire well and the putting the proper board on top of the box, cut a hole around the middle for the sub to go into inverse it then cut a hole in my carpet, and have just the sub, amps (one for sub, other for speakers) and my cap (when i put my 1000W amp in it) so all you see is the sub sticking up and the amps... i think it will look clean what about yall??

its a good idea as it would save room, yet not sure how well or hard it would be so... if you do it def make a walk through.

So you want it sticking out of the trunk mat? That would look cool for show but wouldn't really serve anymore practicality than a box since you can't put anything where that's going to be.

it would be more practicle for stuff in the trunk than my current box becuase it takes up my whole trunk pretty much.. with this design i can atleast put my tool box back there again. just make it where it won't move around and i could also put my polisher and small stuff like that back there if i need to....

and it will be able to hold alot of wieght, the board that i am spoce to use is 1 inch think... the only problem i can see is, if i deceide to port the box later, it will take more time to place it properly.

i've thought of that idea.. but it'd have to be a well made box to get good acoustics.. I'd put a 15 in it,, and stick it up out of the carpet with a custom cage around it at the subs TDC, so it wouldnt hit at max rumble. i like the idea.. but like i said it'd be tough to do.

it looks good,, but i believe it may kill sound quality from the sub. idk how to make it sound good.. i use bandpass standing boxes with my subs twoard the trunk and the amp mounded behind the seats on the back of the box.. its sounds great..

well like my current box, is pretty bulky, and when i inversed the bac, it sounded soo much better.. and as for great sound quality i would like that, but i want it to be more functional, and sound quality will follow behind that. and if i build the box to specs it should not hurt the quality any, or much.. but it might make the car rattle a little more, but i will have to see...

This has already been done on s197's and it looked sick.....They just drop a molded box into the spare wheel spot and pumped the amps around it and one was in the box with the subs, but I like the idea. Just another form of stealth kit.

i knew that this probably has been done before with all the ppl that do sparetireweld sub boxes.... but i was thinking about it last night, so i decided to post it up... and yea i think it will look sick...

do yall think this amp kit will be good... (i will run two amps, and probably hold off on the cap untill i get more power, unless with two amps my lights dim too much...)

2 amps to 1 10" i wouldnt advise.. 2 amps to one speaker is just odd anyways.. unless its a MTX jackhammer.. But id put a 15 in there if ur gonna do anything.. a 10's not too good for anything but a nice kick.

i wouldnt expect too much out of that amp kit from wal mart
u get what u pay for
if u are going to be running two amp u need to get a good amp kit and that one is not it
u need to find a TRUE 4 gauge kit
MEANING it has hella copper wire and not just insulation
the more copper the better the amp kit
try to get one from a good audio store
