Estimate?

Estimate?
Hey guys, I think I might be getting my spoiler removed and such here pretty soon if things work out that way, but I wanted to hear some input from everyone before I do. As I'm going to shops asking them to fill the holes and paint, how much should they quote me for the job? I want to be sure I'm not paying too much, but I'm sure I'll be getting no killer deals. Anyway, thanks for any input you give

well my cousin does autobody.. And he's one of the best in the US. LITERALLY. he has won multiple contests using "house of colors" paint, and hes du pont certified and all that.. He can blend paint,, and i figure it should be no more than 100 dollars. thats in my opinion. 100 is the MAX it could be,, it wont take much paint, isnt a hard area to get to,, wont take much "bondo" and minimal sanding.. then do a bullseye blend shouldnt be bad..

I've heard some ridiculous prices for what seems like a simple job. If I remember right I think I've read ppl paying around $250 for the filling and paint, have even hears some estimates being $400 which is ridiculous. I just saved the money and used some plugs I had laying around the garage for free. I can put my spoiler back on and take it off whenever I wan't. Something to think about.

Thats what my friend did,, I actually did it once too,, i used body pins,, like the ones that hold ur front end on n stuff,, i shouldve dipped them in my old paint before it went bad.. But id do what he does,, u may get hounded by ppl and feel sore one day and want it back on,, and maybe when u sell it,, someone may want the wing on it. so id just go with plugin the holes with pins and spraypaint them cheap shiny silver and nobody will notice.

although it seems like a small job......to do it correctly will take a good amount of time. the holes must be welded, you cut a sheet metal peice stick it in the hole and then weld it....then you can add your bondo, sand and paint.
you may be able to find a clean trunk from a non spoiler model for less...

all u have to do is claybar it out, i waxed mine out.. and u couldnt tell,, the plugs dont look bad, and im sure nobody would pay attention to it.. just get some autobody plugs at advance, and buy touch up paint for the same color numbers as ur car.. Plug em in, i wrapped mine with black tape, then stuck em in,, then apply the paint over em with the little brush,, easy and costs no more than 20 bucks,, counting gas etc.
