Default Installation Estimates?

Hi. I haven't posted in a while, but I assure you I've been lurking

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone has had experience installing these 3 parts, and could give me an estimate on the time it takes to install them. Keep in mine I am a car newbie and have never really installed anything before. My car is a black 1998 Mustang 2dr Coupe (Not that the color actually matters, but...).

The first item is Black Headlights with Corner Lights. Right now I have the headlights that came with the car, which I've never taken out or anything like that.

The second thing I bought is these Black Tail Lights. They look like they are going to be harder to install than the headlights.

And the last thing is this Billet Grille, which looks pretty easy to install - but then again, what do I know .

Any estimates on the time or difficulty of these installations will be very helpful.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I have no idea how to do any of those on a '98, but I say you should not pay anyone to do them. Do them yourself. I know for a fact that the tail lights aren't difficult. Just a matter of removing a few screws in the rear, taking the trim off, undoing some harnesses, pulling them out, removing lights, and reversing the process with your new lights.

Did any of this stuff come with instructions?

Headlights are super easy, just pull the pins on the top of them and pull them out.

Step 1: http://www.americanmuscle.com/mustan...ing-video.html
Step2: http://www.americanmuscle.com/mustan...o-install.html

Tail lights are easy as well, I think there are 3 nuts holding them on the back of the car. Just pull the back carpeted panel behind them out of the trunk and undscrew them.

Not sure on the grille, but most of us here will tell you that you should do a 3-piece grille delete over billett..

That's the thing, I have not received them in the mail. Just ordered them a couple days ago, so I'm expecting them early next week, or late this week probably.

I'm just hoping to get a heads up on some details so I know how much time to leave myself. I'm thinking it might take up the majority of a Sunday or something.

As I stated, I never really have worked on a car (This is actually my first car). I definitely want to figure out how to do it on my own, this way I can get familiar with doing other car things on my own as well.

I have a head unit and just ordered some Pioneer speakers, I'm not sure if I want to venture into trying to do those myself, though

Thanks for the vids! I'm sure they will be very helpful!

Those things aren't difficult to do. They're a good starting point. You may want to have someone there to guide you a little in case you get stuck on something, but that is not necessary. To be honest with you, the headlight, tail light, and grille install will definitely not take the majority of a day. Even if you take your sweet time and run into minor problems, it shouldn't take more than maybe 3-4 hours for all of those. Hell, it might not even take you that long.

You can take your car to Best Buy or to a custom stereo shop to have the head unit and speakers installed if you are not comfortable doing it yourself. Should not cost too much and it's better to pay someone to do it right if you are not sure of how to do it yourself.

Good luck on all of it.
