Default Venom VCN1000 Window Switch ???

Getting ready to order my Venom Nitrous Kit in about 2 weeks (from mustangtuning of course) but i would lke to to wire in a window switch. Anyone using a window switch on there Venom set up just?? wondering how the switch wired in to the system and does it work right. Scared of the nitrous spraying to redline and even though im an experienced driver, I still get a little too heated and bang the limiter every once in a while, which is supposed to very deadly for the Mustang.

Would I need a second toggle switch to activate the Window switch, that would then power the Venom unit???

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

With the venom kit you don't need a window switch :sleepy3:

I know it only activates at WOT but what keeps it from spraying once the rev limiter is hit?

You don't need a window switch with the Venom! What happens when you hit the rev limiter is that fuel and spark is shut down. The Venom computer sees the pulse drop to the injectors and cuts off the nitrous. It is really hard to dick up.

Let's see if Sam will chime in, but he has banged the rev limiter a ton of times and missed a bunch of shifts and four years later, he still has a motor.

I use a separate switch to power my Venom setup. The switch is tied to a relay. I did it this way because I LOVED the switch and was adding a bottle warmer at the same time. One thing that annoys me about the Venom is the flashing lights when not using the system. By having a separate power switch, I can turn the whole thing on and off right at a stop light. You can also pull the fuse too. That is what I did before adding the switch.

BTW, I know a tech rep for Venom that may be joining our forum. That would be cool!

Here are pix of my switch:

Here ya go!

As you can see they are pricey and have different options that you can choose. But, the quality is superb. There is a ton of engineering in these switches. The guy who makes them is a member of this forum.

If you are going to add a switch, don't cheese out. Get a quality component that does not destroy your dash. You can always put off getting a switch until later.
