Default Got Roush Supercharger..Have questions

I just won a roush supercharger for 01-04 2v mustangs. I have an 04 gt and what i won comes with the charger the intake manifold and sc intake and intercooler. I was wondering whats a safe and good psi to run on stock internals. I have other mods on the car but just wanted to know whats good. Also what other parts will i need such as injectors or fuel pump or ne thing like that? Thanks

you will need a lightning MAF, 42# injectors and an svt focus fuel pump.

also, its not the PSI that determines how safe it is, its the power. a nice safe number is 400rwhp and 420 is pushing it. also, make sure you get a good tune from a reputable tuner in your area.

yes the LMAF is 90 mm.

get a good tune and upgrade your cooling accessories. what i mean is that you need to get a huge heat exchanger.

1. if you have underdrive pulley's take them off and put the stockers back on
2. get colder plugs like TR6's or autolite 103's or NGK BR7EF's and GAP them to what your tuner says...usually its .035
3. if i were you i would get a bigger heat exchanger
4. put the smallest pulley you can find on that thing. get on FNSWEET.com and find out about that blower with the search button...they are dicks when it comes to fake roush stangs
5. get 42# injectors those are good up to 500-550 hp.
5. i would get a GT pump but that requires some fab work which is childs play just a couple spade connectors. If thats too much work than get the SVT focus pump they are about 100 bucks new and plug right into a stock GT basket.
6. get a custom tune 300-400 bucks is well money spent...if you dont ahve a dyno near you call up BAMA chips or Lasota racing and they will email you tunes but you will have to datalog what they ask and play email tag...really ******* annoying. they charge you money too its not free LOL.

i run 12#'s of boost and probably have well over 400 hp to the wheels. my focus pump couldnt keep up so i had to spend more money for a BAP...then my MAF pegged so i had to spend more money for a MAFIA. i dont know much about roush chargers but i think you should be ok without the BAP and MAF extender.

BAP? what do u mean. Also the blower comes with a pulley thats 10-15 psi he said. Idk how much boost is safe for the 4.6. But also i was just planning on getting the stock pulley like 8 psi the LMAF, SVT Fuel Pump and 42# injectors as well as dif. spark plugs. That was my plan.

BAP = Boost A Pump

Boost PSI isnt the problem. The internals are. I would not run over 400WHP or you can kiss your motor goodbye in no time

BAB=Kenne Bell Boost-a-Pump
It increases your fuel pump voltage, so you don't lean out.

10 to 12#'s psi should put you near 400rwhp...

Man this is more then i thought would be going into this. But im wondering if just getting the boost a pump would work instead of getting the svt focus fuel pump. All i was planning on purchasing was LMAF, SVT fuel pump and 42# injectors as long as the stock size pulley that roush sells for the charger so i will be in the safe zone .

Even though its too late, you should of went to a place that sells kits. Usually they come with fuel pump, injectors, etc.

8 psi will probably put you in the mid 300's at the wheels. so the LMAF and SVT focus is plenty for your application. its just a matter of time before you up the boost to 10 psi and push some more power. its not like you will be in boost 24/7 but its there on tap whenever you want to push you will be running premium fuel so why not!

good luck its not that hard to throw everything in the car its just time consuming.

Alright thanks for all the info. But now i have a question thats probably impossible to answer unless someone knows alot about parts. The supercharger came in the mail today. It came with the s/c and the PI intake manifold with intercooler built into it that sits right below the charger, and thats all i got. Now i order injectors, lmaf and fuel pump but i think i need alot more then that. Do you guys possibly know how many more little parts and misc. things i will need? Bc with what i got i doubt that thats all i need to get the thing up and runnning.

Be careful of the Lmafs the 99-00 were 80mm not 90mm So be sure to get the 01-04 90mm Lmaf. I know a few people who got screwed because they didnt make sure what year maf they got.

your going to need a heat exchanger, reservoir, pump, lots of hoses, barbed fittings, hose clamps. thats just for cooling you probably need more than that!

like i mentioned up above look into FNSWEET.COM run a search for stage 3 clones and see if you can dig up info for roush charger installs.

Well after all the help from everyone, and thanx alot for that, i decided to sell the roush to a friend of mine and picked up this kit. This kit is the whole kit. I bought the tuner kit of them which doesnt come with injectors and lmaf and svt fuel pump bc i have that all already. http://fastspecialties.com/store/ind...oducts_id=1456

Now my question is, with the hp this kit makes, will my svt fuel pump i ordered withstand the hp from this supercharger kit. Or should i sell the svt fuel pump and keep my stock fuel pump and get a BAP?

No, use the svt pump. If anything sell it and get a Ford GT pump, or use a BAP with the svt pump.

O i thought i read on the kenne bell website about BAP that they cant be used with svt focus fuel pumps for some reason, but maybe im wrong. O i think they said id have to bypass fuses so the BAP would run off a 40 amp bc the stock fuse is 30 amp and thats not big enough

i run a 20 amp BAP with my SVT focus pump. the BAP is at 100 percent once i hit 5 psi of boost. i havent had problems in the past 3 years with that set up

Ok i c. So i am able to put the two together. Now did you hook up the bap to the stock fuse or did you have to bypass it. Also how much hp you running with that set up and will the kit i bought and the svt fp i have work out well?

i have a auto that pulled over 400 hp so the pump pressure dropped to 20. after the BAP was installed the pump pressure stayed steady at 41-42. now my car is around 420ish rwhp with more exhuast and 5* more timing in the tune at 17*. my motor is going to blow up soon but i barely drive it.

i think you will be fine without the BAP.
