Default Vortech supercharger on my 02 gt

I just purchased a vortech supercharger and I wanted to know if I could run the 03/04 cobra Maf and injectors(stock 39lb). I also wanted to know if I could run the stock pump with a KB BAP or if I need to upgrade to a SVT Focus pump? I only plan on running a 3.6" pulley. Also, would a mail order tune work with a simple setup like this or do I have to do some dyno time. I am not looking to go crazy with this setup; I would like to push about 6-8 psi. I am also doing this with the stock bottom end. I would appreciate any advice!

Get the lightning MAF and youll need an air temp sensor from a 98 GT from any parts store because the lightning isnt equiped with one like our mustangs are. You should also run 38# injectors with the lincoln aviator pump, not the SVT. The SVT would be perfectly fine but after 400rwhp you are coming close to the limits of the pump. Especially if theres a plan for upgrading in the future. Youll be in there anyways so just get the aviator.

KB says on their site that the BAP and a fuel pump is sufficient for up to 500rwhp using 36lb injectors. How true that is, I'm not sure. I can attest to that setup working flawlessly up to 411rwhp though.

I have a focus pump and 42 lb injectors. I'm running out of fuel pump at the big end but the injectors make up for it.

the 03/04 cobra MAF is the same as the lightning MAF. Heck, it was a direct swap on my 01 because the IAT is seperate from the MAF

if your IAT is built into your MAF then you will have to buy an IAT when you buy the MAF and install that along with some changes to the wiring.

Heck, I've got a 4" intake elbow with the hole for the IAT in there already along with the sensor if you are interested. This would work with a power pipe.

you can use your stock MAF, it's fine until you cross well over 400rwhp. Simply changing the MAF on a 02+ won't help matters anyway, the injector size is calibrated in the ECU on 02-04 so it must be updated electronically not in hardware. The 39lb injectors from the 03/04 won't work as far as I know. If you're only going to run 6-8lbs then 36lb/hr injectors are well suited.

the SVT focus pump is good enough to run most applications up to 450rwhp or more. After that the aviator pump is good all the way out to as far as you'd want to go on a street car power wise. I'd get the focus pump... it's cheap and perfectly suited.

mail order tunes are suicide. Dyno tune or don't do it. Supercharging is a pretty aggressive thing to do to a motor without a really solid tune running the show, especially with a stock bottom end. I've seen too many mail order tuned blower cars come in for dyno runs and show 13.7:1 AF ratios for one reason or another. At least on the dyno you can monitor the AF realtime and they can shut it down if the tune isn't right. If you get a mail order tune you're just as likely to do a full power run and break a piston or rod which will equal a new motor for you.
