Dude, someone is blowing smoke up your ****. Do not run that car w/o a dyno tune, or you will have no motor left. You can not run a blower w/o a custom tune especially with differen injecotrs and MAF. To be honest (and perhaps a bit harsh), I am shocked that you would know how to install a blower, but not know that you need a dyno tune.

You car is running horribly rich. The red hot mid pipe is due to unburned fuel getting into the mid-pipe and actually burning inside the mid pipe. If you have cats on the car, they are probably toast. I would hate to imagine what your plugs now look like and the inside of your cyclinders.

Do you mean to tell me that the instructions make this claim about not needing a tune/chip? If so, they should be put out of business.

Bottom end on your Cobra is the weak link so dyno tune is a must. Dont run the car until you do.

Jason, I did not mean to flame you. I was just soo shocked reading your post. If you just ran it for leaks, I guess I might have tried the same.

I must assume that you put in the larger injectors etc.. when you did the swap. If so, that is why you are running pig rich.

Do you have a tuner local to you? Hopefully you do.

You might be able to get a mail order tune from an SCT dealer who is experienced with this specific blower. If you want some advice on this, I can send you in the right direction. Might even be close enough to run the car. The tuner will be able to tell you.

Are You Saying Take It To Someone And Have It Put On A Dyno,or Is It Ok To Have A Custom Chip Burned And Install It Myself?i Know The Dyno Would Be Better But This Thing Is Getting Expensive.

Not as expensive as a new engine.

Jason, if I were in your shoes, I would talk to a few experienced tuners for their feedback. Consider this, you can buy a Steeda blower kit at certain authorized Ford dealers. It comes with everyting you need and a new computer (as in no dyno tune). If your setup is "standard" adn you don't have too much else done to the car, a mail order tune may be good enough.

I will send you a PM.

if you had stock injectors and a FMU then you dont need a tune. but you are not using one form what i can tell and you have 42#ers thats why it runs like ****.

Spike, you think he would be fine with just smaller injectors?

no it needs a tune and or stock injectors and a FMU.

Plus the maf ant helping things either. if it was me i wouldnt run the car at all like this.

Smaller injectors wont help out because the computer is still thinking it has 19#ers so hes screwed without the tune or FMU.

I thought Vortech kits came with a Superchips chip :icon_scra and a fuel pump all included?? you probably need a tune either way!

On your comment about being harsh, some of us have been building cars and bikes for decades and are very well versed in engine building, but are not experts on computer controls ,yet! I got on this site in hopes of learning something I don't know, and a condescending attitude never helps! I would be glad to share anything I've learned in the past 40 years with anyone without any negative comments.

Don't wory about any body teasing you...it will probably happen anyway...in fun.

Hey a youngin on this site once told me that "nitrous was for four bangers only". Believe that? We got guys of all ages here and everyone chips ins.

Glad you joined us.

YOU PROBABLY FIGURED IT OUT BY NOW. COULD ACTUALLY RUNNING LEAN, NOT RICH. IVE SEEN CATS GLOW FROM BEING LEAN ALOT MORE OFTEN THAN FROM RICH, ALTHOUGH IT DOES HAPPEN. HOPE YOUR PROBLEM WAS SOLVED.
