So hows the block? Ca you tell yet? Is it scored and scared in the cylinders, or even cracked anywhere? If the block is ok it can be rebuilt and saved in the shop for a back up

rust spots say water infiltration... I'm gunna venture a guess: bad HG caused it to suck water into the chamber, it went hydraulic and bent the **** out of the rod on the upstroke, yanked the piston most the way out of the bore, broke the rod big end at the bottom of the throw which gets smacked by the crank and whips around to break the cam and destroy bottom end. Talk about a cascading failure.

um the block is gone, #7 the side is completely gone.. #6 has a crack from where it turned sideways on us.. #4 has a small score in it... the oil pan was busted on the side because #6 giving out. we found shards of metal on top of all the pistons, the pass. side head is actually perfectly fine, except a small small dent in the exhaust valve, the diver side is distorted... the intake is good... its tghe worst engine i have ever seen.. also Roger (the guy who drives it) Acey, my Dad, and Travis ( engine builder not this one but others) have ever seen also... its sad... but we are soo soo lucky the block didn't blow and threw debri all over the track.. but from the spot in the pass side where the oil pan had a hole fire shot probably about 3-5 feet out of the engine... the car was running straight race fuel 110 octane. but the good part is we are getting a stronger and faster engine for the car now..
