I wasnt attacking you Redneck and I dont think Yoshi was either. I believe someone was calling us both idiots and said we proved our stupidity or something along those lines. However, you have still yet to beat my argument. If you want compare race cars to race cars.... C5R, C6R....whats the Cobra R got on them? Its sad a factory race car cant hold up to a production car. How about this, comparing cars you can/could buy off a showroom floor and drive on the street. You gotta compare apples to oranges if thats the best fords got....
BTW... I never called either of you idiots or stupid. I've repeatedly called your statements idiotic and stupid but that's not attacking you, that's attacking your argument. If you'd like me to cite examples, I will. Then I'll ask for you to be ban.T for a few days for your actions. Would you like that? You on the other hand have directly attacked me and I object to that.
Now to race cars vs. race cars... the C5R doesn't race in the same class as a R, and is subject to different class rules. If you were to compare the roush racing mustang based cars that race in the same class as the C5R, then I think you'll find that the stangs hold their own. So do porches, audi's, toyotas and a number of other nameplates. The point is, you need to know what you're talking about and I don't think either of you have had enough experience in hot rodding or sanctioned racing to argue effectively. The R is a lethal performer in the classes it races in in stock trim. Add a cage and some cooling (like the Brown Brothers dedicated Race R) and you'll be legal for higher class racing. The Brown car has been at the victory circle a few times.

YoshiBluevil says:
redneck, i was not trying to attack YOU, just using your comments to respond with in general. The R is a great car in its class, of course; and I love my Ford, and I like what they attempted with the R ... but hands down, the z06 is a better performer. the z06 i have seen run an 11.2 in the quarter stock, and i think the R is low 13s (not sure, anyone help me out here?)
I disagree with your statement that they NEED a 100k warranty. The point of the warranty is for GM to say they trust their cars that much, that they will give you a 100k warranty, with 3yr/36k b2b, not say "our cars suck so much we will cover the stupid repairs for 100k to make you get into the car" lol. It costs gm money to cover damages for 5yrs/100k, why would they do it if they didnt trust their products?
Honestly, for vettes being unreliable, i think its because the stupid rich old ppl that buy them dont always drive them daily, and they park them, which we all know is not the greatest thing for cars.
I see your algorithm for the supercar, race car, street car thing, and i get it, but the R as a race car is out performed by a supercar. im not attacking the R, im just saying, plain and simple, no mattre what class they are in, the z06 is a better performing car. The R is great in its class, but the supercar outperforms it (...no crap right?) so yes i was agreeing that they are not in the same class, but its because the z06 is a better performer, and is streetable (supercar), and i think that is better then a race car that ppl want to make a DD
i really didnt know about the frame, a guy i work with told me that, and i appologize for the misinformation there.
when i said it smashes the exotics, i mean it is a better performer, and is cheaper.
i didnt finish my thought on the "unpredictable" thing. I mean anyone can have the car from stock, to a sub-10, and have them streetable still.
the z06 is more then a "trim change" to the c6. you need to get a brochure, and look at the differences.
no more attacking. this thread needs to be moved or something, its WAY off topic now. I love ford, but i know a z06 is better then anything ford has made in years (except for the GT...which was $125k, PLUS a big premium - at least $50k at my local dealer)

Ever hear of the ford GT? I can afford to buy any of the above. But, I also want to retire at 45 (which I will at present rate) so I've limited myself to 30K dollar cars and under.

so anyways, VENOM, any new videos yet? I love thos things, they are always intense, and seem like what you would see on TV lol.
To sum this ENTIRE thread up:
1) the sn looks nice
2) the R is a nice car, and a great race car for its class
3) the z06 is a supercar, and out performs the R
4) Venom makes good movies
5) redneck wrote long posts

ya know, i think manufacturers will not cover the engine once you make ANY modifications. I think they have "approved" items that the manufactures make, and it should still be under warranty. However, it is up to the dealer if it is covered. So, he got screwed, but then he got his $150k, so hes good to go lol
