Default PHP Intake Spacer install

I know there aren't too many machs on this site, but I thought I'd post some pictures of the intake spacer install. I got the spacer about 4 months ago and just now got around to installing it. I know it's hard to believe but this spacer does wonders for mach's. The car is smoother and gets through the RPM's faster. Independent Dyno results by r3dn3ck's friends over at Apex Motorsports showed a 3.1rwhp & 14.8rwtq increase. Most people that have done a before and after dyno of the intake spacer usually get a peak increase of 4rwhp & 4rwtq, however almost all have reported the car gets to 300rwhp about 600rpms sooner, which is a big deal because I lost some low end torque with the prochamber. I can tell you the butt-o-meter for sure feels the difference.

1. Before.
2. Took the shaker off.
3. removed the shaker bracket
4. Intake
5. As you can see there is oil in the intake, which I cleaned out....I might need a oil separator from r3dn3ck.

1. I cleaned the oil up.
2. This shows the intake spacer width.
3. PHP supplied longer intake bolts.
4. picture of the intake with the spacer.

here is a picture of the of the PITA EGR....this thing was a total biiiiooootch.

1. I had to pull that EGR back and have my lady set the intake on top of the spacer. I didn't have too much trouble getting the EGR bolted up, but it did suck.
2. As you can see I have the throttle cable bracket bolted to the wrong side. This caused a lot of slack in the throttle cable....lets just say the test drive was interesting...that's when I realized something was wrong.

3&4: all back together!

I installed mine a few weeks ago before I came out to cali. That EGR is a total PITA! Otherwise, it was pretty straight forward install. Havent taken it to the dyno to see how much hp/tq I made.

Sweet....did you move out to Cali?

I'd be interested in seeing your dyno results. I'm not going to the dyno anytime soon so I'll have to go with the butt-o-meter. Did you notice any difference?

No, Im out here for deployment training. I felt alittle bit on my butt-o-meter, but not that much. I'll really feel the difference when I get home and drive my car, because I just had my rear end built with 4.10s.

Yeah, many people have invested in a oil separator after pulling the intake off. I was expecting oil to be there, but I wasn't sure of how much. It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. I'd highly recommend this mod and the spacer was only $100....well worth it.

For those of you shocked about the oil in the intake... that's nothing compared to what I'm used to seeing. Order my kit. You'll thank me.

El Centro's not that bad. At least as long as the pools open and you can talk them into turning the water slides on. I also highly recommend getting tanked at the bowling alley and then renting the go karts (for some reason they let you do this). Their stupidity is your fun though
