Hey, My name is Cody. I just bought a nice, dark green 1998 Mustang GT 4.6L. Right now it is stock beside the Flowmaster exhaust and the Steeda Racing clutch and adjustable clutch cable. I'm very excited about upgrading my car and I appreciate and advice sent my way. I can't wait to smoke all the rice up here in Northern California. I will be racing at the Samoa Drag Strip here in Humboldt County. The open races are held on Sundays and I don't plan on missing any of them. Well Thanks again for the feedback. So far you guys have been Extremely helpful. Again I appreciate it and I hope to hear from you all soon, Thanks again
Cody

If I'd have to do my car over again, the only thing visual I'd do would be DD wheels for traction because I would put 95% of my money to performance.

What are DD wheels? You're talking about tires right? I'm putting some Cobra R wheels on and probably some Toyo tires.

DD = Deep Dish. Those Toyo T1-R's are a really nice tire. I really like them and would get them no doubt but the widest they make is a 285/35/18. I want something a little wider.

hey man what's goin' on. i live in fort bragg, NC and i used to own a 98' stang GT 5-speed. i think the weather may be a little different but i was able to drop a almost a full second in the quarter with some bolt ons. bone stock i was able to pull a 14.6 but it was very cold and the track was very sticky and we all know what cold air does for us. but on a normal day at the track in the summer i was pulling an average of a 14.8. i was power shifting also if wondering which i believe anyone does when racing a manual. here's the list of mods i had on it.
BBK O/R X-PIPE
FLOWMASTER CATBACK
3.73
SHORT THROW SHIFTER
DENSE CHARGER CAI
70 MM TB
ACCEL WIRES
ACCEL COILS
BBK UNDER DRIVE PULLEYS (RECOMMEND STEEDA THOUGH)
NOT REALLY A MOD BUT I HAD SOME WELD DRAGLITES ON IT RUNNING 275/60/15'S IN THE REAR AND ONLY HAD BF GOODRICH RADIAL T/A'S ON THEM AND WAS ABLE TO LAUNCH AT 3000 RPM, 4000 RPM WAS SPINNING.
with all that my best time was a 13.92 @100 MPH. i think with drag radials and higher launch rpm a tenth maybe two could have been had. but then my first kid came and i traded it in for the family. anyway maybe that helps maybe it don't. good luck. i hear cali is tough.

Default Dude that's freakin awesome!

See what need is the X-pipe which I know nothing about and would like to research, the 3.73 gears with possibly a tuning chip, I would really like the short throw shifter and maybe even the 70mm Throttle Body. Sounds like you had a nice ride. I have a manual too and I can't wait to race it.

3.73 with a chip would be nice and the X-pipe would definately wake your car up.
