Anyone intrested in 5.4L swaps, in here. Need you to opine.
Joey: yes, yes, Be careful. Tack, then stitch. use a jig or you'll risk bending the tubes off straight.
Used 4v cams are usually all over www.svtperformance.net

On the same page here with you. Put it out from the car. Make some sort of cradle for it the weld a pipe or use a big pipe wrench and turn the tue back untill it's lined back up properly with the other side. Weld it up and then put it back in the car... Correct?
Okay well red... I think it worked out good. Ended up welding a long piece of pipe to one of the brackets on the tube and me and a buddy knocked it around untill it lined back up. It lined up great. Welded where the rivets where then welded the tube to the pumpkin in 8ths till I was all the way around. Haven't tried driving it yet, I will when I get home from work and let y'all know. So far it's a success
My latest video. I was datalogging in 3rd gear like Joe@TrickTuners told me to do. Its running pretty rich right now so Joe will have it dialed in soon. This thing screams like crazy .

got a lightning crankshaft in excellent shape for sale if anybody needs one.bought the new cobra jet crank with the stronger snout for big roots blowers.had it balanced for my rotating assembly.but can easily be balanced to yours.
ok Got my 2001 engine stripped down to heads, cam covers, water pump, all pulleys and tensioners, and oil pan. We is left I need to take off and what can I keep. Almost ready to start bringing parts over from my 4.6L. Do I keep the 8 ribbed pulleys or put the GT ones on? Still need to decide on intake.
Use the 8rib smooth and the 6 rib grooved and a 6 rib belt.
Are you up to speed on the required oil pan mod?
Pull the oil pickup tube off your 4.6 and put it on the 5.4 with your modified 4.6 oil pan. Your 4.6 exhaust manifolds transfer as does all the front accessory stuff. Use the 5.4L tensioner. Power steering pump is a bitch aint it.
Call HPS and get an intake. There's no other used ones available as far as I know.

Well guys long time no update so figured i'd throw up the information i've 'discoverd' so far:
The 96-97 vortech bracket will work on the 5.4 with very little modification. All that we had to do was shave the Stock idler location and move it a little bit. NOthing that a competent shop with a welder and the TC and SC Bracket couldnt do.
Only thing left for me to do is to wrap up the FMIC piping, and to install the S/C belt and I'll be running again. Hopefully take it to the exhaust shop to get fixed up, then to the tuner next week.
And now some pix's for your enjoyment:
And some gauges I installed, which, are arguably the most aggrivating thing I have ever had to deal with. If something ever happens with these, I will gladly pay someone to fix them.

Yup I'm the one. I appreciate it man, you saved me on that one. New ones are rediculously expensive. THe guy who was modifying my stock one noticed a few cracks and said it'd probably be a good idea to just get another.
nice find! FWIW my motor is still for sale. 2k for the bottom end shipped 800 for the heads and cams, 75 for the front cover, might do 2500 for the whole thing.
I finally got the damned tool that I needed to pull the exhaust and k-member so now I can pull the thing apart and get someone here their headers (yeah, they're already sold).
I have a shitload of good parts. I'll make special deals for you guys here but only if you offer it via PM and keep the price out of the public view.

Whats up everyone? I need a little advice and suggestions please. My 2000 GT 4.6 2v just spun a bearing. Now I got bigger cams, long tubes headers, etc.. Now I found a 5.4 lightning supercharged motor for sale cheaper than I can think about stroking out my 4.6. I have read some about the swap and it seem it would not be a problem for me to do. The question I have is what all do I need or have to buy if I swap to the 5.4 supercharged??? will my headers work? will my diablo sport programmer tune it?? Will it work with my 5 speed?? Y'all seem like the fellows that know what your doing when it comes to this swap any replys would be great. thanks

Your headers won't transfer over but FRPP and JBA shorties or FTP longtubes or stock manifolds will work. I'd recommend saving a few bucks and using stock iron logs.
You'll need a fuel pump upgrade, 42lbs injectors, the complete supercharger kit.
You'll need a new pilot bearing.
Since you have a 2000 you should have an 8 bolt flywheel so you shouldn't need to buy any major parts. Your predator will be able to upload a sufficient tune but you'll need a custom tune put on it with correct adjustments. The 4.6 tune will run it but probably not very well.
If you're going to use the lightning blower you'll have a big hole in the hood. I'd skip the blower and get yourself a HPS intake manifold (www.hiperformancesolutions.com) and then drop a 150 hp shot of nitrous on it. You'll make more power, have no hole in the hood and be able to run plain ol' NA and still have mad tq.
Alright well Its not the stock motor I swapped it out about 4 years ago to a so called "saleen" motor with lunati nitrous cams. I have looked up the numbers on the block and I have had no luck to confirm that it come out of a saleen. All except the pretty red saleen pulley on the water pump. lol.
Ive lost the paperwork on the cams but I know for sure thats what in the motor. I had to buy a 6 bolt flywheel to go to my 5 speed tranny. Think thats a Romeo??
I can do the fuel pump upgrade but this motor that Im thinking about buying is a complete 5.4 lightning motor with the supercharger and everything ready to go. Shouldnt need to buy injectors right???
I have BBK long tube headers they wont fit or what?
How about the wiring harness?
I have a 150 shot full plate system on my car now and I'm pretty sure thats why I have to change the motor in it now.
That blower just sounds Bad A$$ too. I would never cut a hole in my hood, but for a blower I think I can manage.

They won't work. MOdding them to work will cost thousands. Get FTP's and sell the BBK's or get some regular ol' stock mustang logs. The blower is taking care of most of the rest. A 2.5" midpipe and 3" cat-back will help.
Use your stock harness. It'll work with some minor modifications. You'll need to extend the TPS and IAC wires and you'll need to add a 4ft extension to the MAF wiring to move it to the driver side. THis is just simple wire extending, nothing hard.
You'll need a lightning pigtail for the lightning alternator. It's an easy splice-in.
You'll need to fab a throttle cable bracket and get an 02 F150 throttle cable.
150hp is at the bottom of the range for an unmodified 5.4L lightning engine. Trust me, don't do the blower. I did it and I can tell you you'll ******* hate it. A proper NA setup with a 150 shot or a 175 shot is hard core. If you have a good tune then you should never have any appreciable problems with the nitrous on the L motor.
I wouldn't try to steer you back to the nitrous if I didn't think that you'd thank me later.
It does sound cool, until you're done with the novelty. Then it's irritatingly loud.

every day I go outside and try to work on the car and it starts POURING rain. I was just under it working on pulling the tranny and the sky opened up on me. So sick of this ****. I just wanna pull the ******' headers off so I can get them shipped and the ************ sky won't let me. Grrrrrr..... sorry had to vent.
BTW, 2900 shipped to anyone on this thread for my engine with heads and cams. That's a fully built motor, bolt in and go. 10.5:1 compression and a guaranteed 300rwhp out of the box.
