Jfor441, Got ya. You're in like Flynn. Don't trip on the timing, I have to wait a week or two as well so I'll work with you to get the deal. See if you can round up another 1-2 chaps to buy some slugs.

Update:

Just spoke with Reichard Racing and they do have intake adapter plates still in stock and they will continue to produce them as long as there's sufficient demand.

I also worked out the beginnings of a GP for the plates so those that don't have them yet should probably wait for a week or so while I get the price details and quantity limits. So far we're looking at 20-50 bucks off which isn't a helluva lot but it's pretty cool considering the cost of the raw materials (billet aluminum) is bloody expensive, not to mention the machining.

RR will also be doing a 2v 5.4L mustang specific version of their wonderful 4.6L 2v intake. That unit isn't cheap but for what you get it's really a good deal. They also offer combo deals for guys that want the RR 4.6L 2v intake and a set of plates right now.

There's another company that reports to me that they're engineering their own design of cast aluminum adapter plates that are due to head out for tooling in the near future. After that it's all finish machining, and QC and then they'll be on the market. Those will certainly be cheaper but will also not be machined from billet so they won't be as shiny or carry the RR logo.

I remember them offering me their intake deal when i got my RR plates, but the way it's made and the height of the plates, i think there would be a hood clearance issue for sure. They stuck it on the 5.4 swap in the 5.0 mag, it gained over 20 HP and TQ to the wheels, but then they had to give it back since it was a prototype at the time.
If that company makes them and they are dull looking, that's pretty sweet. I like shiny but i wanted my plates not to obvious to anyone, so i painted them flat black....yep, looks like a nice clean 4.6 under my hood.....and when i went to the track, people thought that.....

7 more days to dyno-tune time!!!! i can't wait.

musta shocked the crap out of them. See this unassuming looking stang break the tires loose in 3rd gear

I'm betting you see some impressive numbers. I really can't wait to see what those cams get you. I'm basing my cam selection off your results and my need to pass smog in a few years.

He didn't get the cams he just got the Patriot Stage 2 heads.

Have you talked to HPS about there intake for the 5.4 and when it will be done? I wont have my motor completed for a while so maybe it will be out by then. That's what i'm hoping for at least. Whenever it comes out i'm going to buy it for sure that way i don't have to worry about the extra gaskets under boost.

moo moo... thought he had cams too for some reason.

Yeah, I've been chatting them up. It's still being worked out but most of the hard part is done now that the 4.6 intake is done. The 5.4 is just going to stretch the runners about 1/2" or so and deepen the lower plenum by 1/2". It'll have the largest plenum I think you could fit under a stock hood and should flow like crazy. ETA... probably 6 months or so for the 5.4 specific version.

I wish i had cams, that would be awesome. Since i was spinning them in 3rd, imagine if i had cams too??!! though it did suck losing traction like that at the track. i know on the street i can't get my tires to bark in second....only cause i spin the crap out of them, but i did catch 3rd gear......

True Dat!! Very soon on that one. i don't want to come back from the track pissed again cause of no traction
Also i was giving it gas in 3rd, they broke losoe, so i backed off, and the tires caught again, so i gased it, and the tires broke loose again, did that a few times and said F this, stuck it in 4 and barely gave it gas and ran a high 17.
They probably though...how is this heavy a$$ convert, non pi stang spinning them in 3rd like it's nothing...hmmm it looked like normal bolt ons to me....
With my 295 tires, they thought i had drag radials, i said i wish....that 98 Cobra only beat me cause of my wheel spin in 1st 2nd and 3rd..bastard.haha

Oh and i have a garage tuned chip right now, wait till they dynotune it and we see how they spin in 3rd....i need new tires...

I'm trying to think, if someone asked me about my plates or if it was a 5.4, what would i say????
I do have 2 295 35 18 BFGoodrich Comp TA's coming, should be in next week....can't wait to put those on too.
I had some 245's BF's on my 95 GT once and liked them but not the price of them when you go bigger....

Oh yeah they definitely aren't cheap. Those should be a little better for traction but you still should get some cheap rims and Drag Radials.

yeah, I ran over a screw and put an early end to my Kumhos, so I stepped up to some BFG g-force TA KDW NTs, and the 275s hold beautifully. Your making more tq, so I'd be shoving a 315 drag radial in there for the track, but stick with the 295s for the street. I'm probably going from 245 to 255 in front just to protect the wheels. Scuffs show up like no other on black. Oh well, I got them used for a set of 17x9 Cobra Rs.

I like the BF's alot and can't wait to get the new ones. As for the track, i'm looking for 2 used 17in mustang rims and i'm getting some drag radials for the next track visit. trying to find some used rims locally, i don't want to pay for shipping on ebay.

something to get peoples mouth watering but not cheap

I know how you can hook up better... change out those 3.73's for 3.27's. All the guys that have been counseling me on the 1320 aspects have told me that if I'm gunna run a street suspension I have to have 3.27's or 1/4mile action will be really really really frustrating. They even said my old 3.55's were too much. Granted I'm only ever gunna be running 275's in back but wow...

that kind of stinks i love my 3.73's there's got to be another way. 31 spline axles a posi and slicks should work i would think.

only to a point... you're generating massive tq at low rpm. That was a motivation toward the high tq/moderate hp design and why I adopted it. slicks will help to a point but traction will always be something of an issue. 31 spline axles and a hot posi like an eaton or auburn will increase your likelihood of driving home after a day of hard launches.

i just say axle's, the limited slip diff. is plenty good enough...just race stack the clutches, and NO MORE 1 WHEEL PEEL!!!!!!!!

Just an update, I decided to change out my C&L to an Accufab plenum, i think it would go better with my Accufab 75mm TB. The drive shaft has some miles on it and thought about changing out the u joints but decided to buy a FRP aluminum DS. Also will put in some fresh royal purple before the dyno tune this Friday, just getting her all ready to go.
Also the new mufflers will go on this friday morning....
I can't wait to see the numbers....

Those are nice numbers. If i can get close to 300rwh and 370TQ i would be happy. I'm thinking of a power adder like nitrous, what do you guys think?
I just bought these, maybe they will help when i go to the track next time, what do you guys think

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWN%3AIT

Also bidding on 2 17" rims since i have 18's

That's sweet man. I'm not to crazy about nitrous just because i don't want to have to worry about refills but it is definitely cheap power.

I would stay off the bottle in >75hp shots entirely. A 50hp shot will make 75tq and an easy 50hp so you'll probably want to wait till 3rd gear to hit it or you'll break traction bad. The tires will help a bunch on a prepared track in either case. Just watch the nitrous cuz those rods aren't the strongest. You can still get same GP price. Are you selling the C&L plenum?
