the front covers are different. I'm trying to get some traction with a couple companies to make a limited run of brackets for the 5.4 cover but i need to get a sample of each of paxton, vortech and procharger 2v 4.6 brackets to do any mockup work.

Alternatively you can have part of the front cover of the 4.6 welded to the 5.4 cover and that should fix you up...that's a lot more involved and almost certainly more costly. If you know how to TIG weld you should be able to do that bit yourself.

I don't believe the demand is great enough to make a 5.4 intake worth producing.

na svt... it's already been made, the balance of effort is getting all of them ready to ship. they're making it just for us and there's also a whole f150 market and a swapped crown vic market.

a sim recommended by Ed Olin is engine analyzer pro v3.3.

it is very good if all the flow information is available. as far as cams are concerned, it mimicks the cam specs by comp cams almost to the degree. and 3v likes wide lobe seperation. it also likes .550 exhaust lift vs. .490 intake lift. simiar to Crane cams bigger 3v cams.

I didn't say they wouldn't make it, I just said the demand isn't high enough to make it worthwhile.

The intake manifold type will determine LSA as will duration.

Default power??

hmm, im kinda thinking maybe i should stay 2valve... just to keep tradition alive lol...
but i guess im wondering how much power im going to be able to put through my current heads, they are patriot 2 stage 2's, flow 215 CFM, so im wondering if i will be able to get 700HP out of them on a twin turbo setup... the stage 3's only flow 225, so im kinda like hmm.... i would like to get 700... so thats why i was thinking of flopping to 3valve.. but since i have these heads i would like to just keep them... and do my build... what you all think ? just turbo the stage 2's??? or sell them and get 3valves which would cost me about 3 grand.. i could probably sell my stage 2's with valve covers and all for 800 or so i would think....

what do you all think???

5.4 bored .020
forged manley internals....

thanks

i think you will hit 700hp with the right fuel system on a your 2v. i'm shooting for that with my 60lbs injectors then 900+ when i get a beefier trans and bigger injectors.

Default ....really

you think i will hit 700 with the stage II's???

wow... ok well N/M i will keep them lol...

so looks like im stilll a 2 valver r3d lol

im going with a MMR Pro Trans 950 i think... it should be strong enough... and have a lil growth in it as well... with the .64 5th gear so i can save a lil gas while on the highway and still be in the power range...

allz you need is boost (and a proper turbo cam).

You should also look into using 3.08 gears in the back. With that much power on tap you don't need 3.73's or even 3.27's.

damn...
i hate switching out those gears... i hate messing with the rear diff... this will be the like 7th time ive messed with a rear diff in a mustang lol ohh well i guess it just means i can upgrade the diff... and take the axles to 31 splines...

there is an article about a turbo'd 2 valve in with 15 psi and patriot stage II heads in this months 5.0 magezine i think... i think it was 5.0 i will have to look again... it was sent to me and i know it wasnt modified mustangs... but they got 500 out of it with 15 psi and a single turbo... on a 4.6 with just forged internals.... i really want to just hit 700 then turn the boost back down to say i hit what i wanted to...

and then leave it at like 8-9 or so for the stret about 450 HP for the street... so it would be pretty streetable....

I am building the motor myself so its kind of goal to see if a motor i have built with my own hands can withstand that much... going to try and get some stiffere springs for the heads as the article said they should of swapped to stiffere springs... so im going to probably buy the Comp Cams springs and put them in the heads to just be safe...

it was hot as hell here today lol

Default hmmm

well what about GT 500 whole top half???
lol a guy is selling it... for like 4 Grand... id have a 2.8KB on top, intake and heads... so supercharger options would be taken care of heads taken care of... hmm dosnt sound to bad... only problem would be having to buy 4v parts i guess... hmm i might go through with this...

what you think r3d good deal???

i just kinda want something original though... not another GT500 motor dropped into a GT putting out 700 lol...
thats the only problem but seems like a good deal...

gt500 top half with a KB... damn. ****** that mf up in a bear trap before someone else gets it. I'd say a KB blown gt500 headed 5.4 in a 96-04 would be a pretty unique car. No need for 700hp. It burns too much gas and just blows the tires off on the street. You can have just as much street fun on a 500rwhp setup and it uses all the same big parts and a lot cheaper little ones. You're going to need a whole nuther' level of fuel system to go much further anyway.

A local shop here just finished a GGT500 motor'd Saleen. It made a little over 500rwhp and was all the car could handle. For the street that is more than you will need, anymore and all you'll do is spin.

Default well...

so i ended up getting a decent deal on some brand new bare navigator heads with MMR Stainless valves... so i bought the heads and valves for 500 shipped... and im going to try and get the intake and supercharger from a GT 500 now... im sending the heads to MMR to get ported and polished and assembled...

i only want to dyno 700, street HP would be cool at about 500... maybe even less... just to keep stress off of the engine.

now i need to start obtaining valve covers, and timing cover... and need to sell my old heads as well...

GT 500 intake should fit any 5.4 4 valve correct?? lol would suck if it dosnt... atleast im only 500$ into this lol

Sorry, the GT500 intake only fits GT500/GT/Cobra R 4V heads since they have a raised intake port.

The GT500 heads are totally different than Navi heads. You can get the intake to fit but it will require a lot of welding and grinding.

hmm well hmm...
now im thinking if they ever used a 4 valve 5.4 on a lightning and i could use the intake from a lightning and use the eaton 122 from a gt 500... the eaton is pretty low profile...

hmm.....
gotta be a way to do this...

what about a bottom navi 5.4 to a supercharger?? i dont know jack about this... anyone that can chime in and tell me if my wishfull thinking is retarded lol

i dont even know what a navi 5.4 lower intake looks like... but if it bolts up to the heads, and i could get a blower to bolt up to it.... that would solve me problems again...

cause its a pain to find gt500 top half lol

and atleast this way id be unique i guess.....

other option is staying 2 valve... cause this is going to be a major PITA

You can easily get 700rwhp using 03/04 heads and a centri supercharger. You could also use the 03/04 heads and install a 03/04 supercharger intake and blower using adapters made by reichard. The Navi heads suck. The GT heads are expensive and not needed for such low hp. 03/04 heads are perfect and the combo is inexpensive and doable.

I second this!

You could get it all under the hood too.
