Default Which LT's to go with

I've seen the BBK longtube headers for 499 at about everysite I go to and then I've seen the MAC longtube headers for like 369. I've noticed the MACs have individual flanges for each tube and they are HTC coated.

Which ones should I go with? Would I notice a difference between either? and are there any other brands out there for my 96 cobra that would be worth considering? Thanks in advance!

hmm...i say slp longtubes. I just bought a pair and they look amazing...getting them installed next week!! By the way, only consider these if you feel like spending around $700 (not including installation).

slp's supposedly give you the most ground clearance

SLP's or BBK's

yes they do, here's a link JEGS

just search for them, my PC is acting up and wont load the page

i think you mean they dont make LT's for a 96 Cobra or Cobra's in general, which yes is true, i forgot we were dealing with a Cobra here, in that case, i'd go BBK, i've heard good things about their exhaust work

yeah I like BBK also, I was just wondering if the MACs were like horrible quality or sumthin cause they are 130 bucks less than the BBK's.

it'a all what you want.... DO-NOT-GO MAC.... with bbk you must remove pass header to drop the trans and less ground clerance.... hookers are great but high $ (jet hot coating!!) which makes then stand out... i have the flowtech cheap good clearance, can remove tranny if need and ceramic coated... if you have the money the all around best are kooks...

stay away from the Mac, while I got mine at a decent price ($165.00) they turned to rust after 1 month, Mac's coatings suck but, you get what you pay for whatever brand you do get, get them wth the HTC coating. it might cost more but in addition to lowering under hood temps, it helps retain the heat in the header tube, thus promoting better exhaust scavaging(sp) of the exhaust and making a few extra ponies and looks good for a very long time. my next set will be from Kooks, $$$ but worth it

I have hooker LT's and they are excellent quality. I do have a small leak on my drivers side header though..

SLP or Hooker. You get what you pay for especially when it comes to headers. Here is a point to especially if you are paying for the install. SLP and Hooker will install and fit better. This will reduce some of the install cost.

okay the only problem with the flow tech was the 1st set that got sent out to me where not right..... other than that had slight issue wir A>I>R connection on pass side... installation was stright forward... and they are way cheaper on price comparable to mac's but better quailty..... slip joint on drivers side has tendacy to leak but mine hasn't yet..... summit carries them with fast shipping in stock

Another vote for some ceramic coated Fowtechs. Best bang for the buck.
