Default Which Items Do YOU Think Mustang Tuning Should Sell?

I'm looking for items that are popular in the Mustang world that we should carry that lots of people would like to have.

I think more selection would be nice. More mods to sell for HP increases.

1) More X/H pipe selections
2) More CAI options
3) More suspension upgrades.

Basically, more of everything! Sorry to be so broad

Items you should carry? Hmm. How about supercharger kits (ooh and offer to finance them too hehe) also the black widow body kit would be cool.

sorry for the numerous posts. I keep thinking of stuff. I have a 40th Anniversary GT and am interested in finding accessories to dress my car up with to customize it. So far I had to have a decal shop create a decal for me, but it would be cool to see stuff offered, whatever the items may be.

Bob:

I am sure this is a tough area for you. Most of the fellas don't realize that you can probably offer such great prices because you purchase large quantities of popular items. Carrying more sku's will greatly increase over-head as you wil have to take on much more inventory.

But, at the same time, I too would like to see you guys carry more items and offer a larger selection.

For starters, you have a relationship with Steeda, but you only show a small fraction of their items on your site.

BLOWERS! If you offered financing (which would be a real project) that would REALLY differentiate you from all the others. A LOT of guys would buy a blower at $100 per month.

Also, you may want to start grouping popular items together into stages. You can have Modular Depot Power Enhancer Groups (one kit includes CAI, UDP's, TB's, Plenum etc..). And you could have similar Modular Deport Handling Groups. With the added benefit of financing this might be a big win for you.

The groups could build on eachother. Perhaps the Stage II Handling group include brake upgrades etc... The sky is the limit.

Default Items

I suspect (and the early returns seem to support this) that you can't go wrong offering parts which add POWER. Superchargers (offer both centrifugal and roots typed), turbo kits (I see BANKS, the big diesel turbo dude is getting into gas engines...might be a good one to hook up on...solid company with tons of turbo experience/success), add a full retinue of Steeda and Saleen inventory. They might dilute your yield if you can't obtain them at a low enough cost but hacving them should attract more buyers whom you can sell your other, more profitable, wears. If you don't already offer some apparel consider some caps, visors, T-shirts, light windbreakers, etc. These I'd sell at or near cost. They won't produce much profit but you get "instant billboards"... Saturate the market with these...maybe make them a freebie with orders exceeding ??? I know there's some support for adding wheels but you can tie up a lot of capital trying to match guns with Discount Tire, et al. There's a fairly new outfit "INTRO" wheels that looks like it could be a hit....(I know one of their reps if you think you might be interested...one of their wheels looks like the HURST mags from the mid-60's...they'd be a hot look on a Stang.... Hope some of this is helpful..

Default Forgot this one...

Man, I can't believe I forgot this one. I think you could sell hundreds, heck, thousands, of rolls of corvette toilet paper. Just something simple like the outline of a vette...maybe offer a couple/few different types (midyears.. 1963-1967 and the new C6). What Mustang owner WOULDN'T want this? They'd make a dandy Christmas gift... You could sell cards that read (on the front) "hand me a roll please" and on the inside "I just took a MOPAR"..
Yes, I know it's crude...that's why it should work..

I would like to see stuff like Handheld programmers, superchargers, more than just one brand of intake plenums and throttle bodies. Maximum Motorsports and Griggs suspension stuff. I dunno, just a broader range of brands. How about stuff like tires. Stuff like gauges, and cams would be nice as well. Thanks for actually caring about what your customers want too, that shows a lot about a company.

Why don't you just...

1) increase your offerings some, but not too much to cause higher prices

2) on things you don't normally offer, have group buys for forum members? Done deal.

Default exhaust packages

How about x-pipe / cat-back packages, header / x-pipe packages, or the complete package front-to-back? There may be some pricing advantages to the consumer for more than one component being purchased at a time?

another idea....how about a "power package" like what STEEDA has...put CAI, and intake mods as step 1,....CAI, Intake mods, exhaust as step 2...etc....with better prices for the higher steps?

ALSO!!!!!!! have an AUTOMATIC gear change package....4.10's, rebuild kit, and Tuner... I would jump at that!

Stuff we have definately on the way-

-tuner chips, (SCT Brand)
-Tires
-A few more nitrous accessories (awesome switches)
-More headlights and tail lights (by demand)
-Our own brand of lowering springs, very similar to Ford C Springs but hopefully less cost

Stuff I am interested in -

-More Accufab products (99 cobra TBs and whatnot)
-More Pypes exhaust(MustangTuning brand)
-Some more brake and rotor options

And...

-Forum member specials
-More Forum contests

PS- Hey Blake-
What Steeda parts do we not have posted up on the site that you think we should? I thought I had Steeda pretty much covered.

Good God, are you serious? I'm feeling light headed. I'm looking at the 70mm TB & plenum... to start with. Also like the idea of some sort of financing or same-as-cash thing. At least on the big ticket items. That would sure set MT apart from all the others.

Another item I am interested in (but cannot find anywhere) is completely clear taillights.. I saw these on a late model Mustang (driving, otherwise would've asked the guy where he got them) but other than that, nothing.. They look really good but are hard to find? I know they exist since I saw them.

Completely clear? If you can find a picture online post it up. I'm curious to see what you are talking about.
