Default Motor Swap

Is there any difference between a 96 4.6 2V and a 00 4.6 2V? My 2000 GTwith only 45,000 miles was just diagnosed with a spun rod bearing. I found a good used motor to put in it for now while I build the original but its out of a 96. I only know of one issue, the COPs but i will use my wiring harness and I will use mine from my old motor. I know the 96 is a NPI motor so I will bolt an extra PI intake manifold to it that I have laying around. Is it worth it to put my heads and cams on the 96 motor? And will I need a tune when its all done? Thanks in advance.

just take everything from heads up as well as accessories and you wont find any differences. Shouldnt even need a retune. It is basically the same block, just redsigned heads and manifold because they are crap

You get a little higher compression when you put PI heds on a NPI motor IIRC. That shouldn't hurt anything though.
